The video you linked to is indeed beautiful but it is also very gloomy including the accompanying music in the video. Look at the faces of the couple about to be married. Look at the faces of the people in the pews. Are they at a wedding celebration or is it a funeral mass?

It would have been more interesting and appropriate if the video would have included footage of the reception/party after the ceremony. Did not Our Lord, His mother and his apostles celebrate at Cana?

Beauty is one thing; interesting is something different. This is why I included the reception after the wedding. The party makes the wedding story "complete" and adds fun and interest to the video. This was lacking in the video you linked to making that video stale and boring.

A man will soon tire of a beautiful boring woman. He would much prefer the company of an average looking woman who is interesting and fun. However, if the man is himself boring, he may prefer the boring woman.

Well said, Tes.
But times change
Yes, and so does fashion. There are some Catholic Churches that have a basic dress code for mass but these churches, in my experience, do not represent the majority. I suppose there are also Catholic Churches that have dress codes for brides but I would bet that that number is even less.

No. However, it's impossible to prevent it (change) on a large scale. The profiteers in the fashion industry and their cousins in Hollyweird (noted for its high population of sodomite anti-Christs) do not have a Christian mindset. Their goal is profit. They achieve their goal with clothing that is new, sexy, and controversial. When these new fashion styles are adapted by Hollywood, we see exactly what we witnessed in this video. Society's (I am speaking about the States) inextricable Slouching Towards Gomorrah continues.

You and I have a very small circle of influence including ourselves, our families and those friends who are closest to us. Within that circle we CAN have some influence but on a large scale we are powerless. We can only pray that others become practicing Christians in every sense of the word Christian (followers of Christ). This includes Catholic Bishops and priests who, in my view, are directly responsible for the lack of proper decorum within Catholic Churches.

Talk is cheap. Watch what individuals do and observe if their actions support what they have said.

p.s. The last song in the video I Have But One Heart was sung by an Italian, Al Martino.

Some (not all) of us have good voices but we are all very charming.

Bing Crosby... Lovely...
But I must say, I quite agree with Holyrope, the dress was a bit inappropriate. Shoulders should be covered, and sleeves at least to the elbows! But times change: If some of you happened to see Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria's wedding last Summer, did you notice that she was the first Royal Princess EVER to wear a dress that showed the shoulders. The Royals have had a real strict dress-code, when it comes to the wedding dresses of the princesses, no matter whether they are Catholic, Anglican, or Lutheran. And now even that tradition has been broken. Somehow it didn't surprise me that a Lutheran Princess broke the ancient tradition - Sweden is such a "modern" country. But is MODERN always good? Of course none of us would like to live without cell-phones, or the Internet and Gloria.tv, but some things that many paople rule "old-fashioned", would be quite important to remember, because they have to do with decency, and the relationship between man and God. Why do so many search for the meaning of life, they go to India, do Yoga, and read about the religions - or philosophies - of the far East, but ignore the churches teachings! Sometimes I do feel that too much information isn't always the answer.
But how can we get those people BACK to the Church? How can we reach all the masses, who don't want to listen?
I think it's wonderful that this couple believes in marriage. I wish all the people did. But somehow there should be a kind of BACK TO BASICS in this world. Back to the good old honest life: Dailly, or at least weekly Mass, and showing our children the excample of good Christian values, that somehow are lost nowadays.
God bless this newly-wed couple. May their life together be full of harmony and joy, and may they live in peace with God, following the rules of the Church. 🙏

What makes men chase women they have no intention of marrying?
Well, it's the same urge that makes dogs chase cars they have no intention of driving.

"BIG JOE" has some moves there...
One thing that shows the times in which we are living is the wedding dresses so many girls wear today. Years ago a girl wouldn't have been allowed to be married in God's Church with shoulders and (sometimes breasts) revealed. Sadly it has come to much of a fashion show. The Sacredness of this Holy Sacrament has diminished so greatly throughout the years.
