It is interesting that the formula "we believe" as it is in use in many translations of the credo in holy mass never had existed bevore. In the the original latin text of the holy mass, like in the traditional roman rite as well as in the several oriental liturgies it is always said "I believe". Even in greek "pisteuomen" has been changed to "pisteuo".
