The bishops fear that Archbishop Nichols would be a divisive figure, the UK Telegraph says. "I said that I was uncomfortable with someone who is clearly so ambitious," a UK bishop told the newspaper.

The year coincides with the 150th anniversary of the death of St. Jean Marie Vianney, the Curé of Ars. It is supposed to strengthen the "missionary identity" of all Catholic priests, the Pope said.
