The Church in the United Kingdom is lending its support to an “earned amnesty” proposal for the nation’s 450,000 illegal immigrants. According to the Press Association, “to qualify for the proposed measure, illegal immigrants would have to fulfill conditions including residence of at least four years, followed by a two-year ‘pathway’ period, a clean criminal record, good English and character references.”

The three-day workshop was offered by New Ways Ministry, a Maryland-based organization that describes itself as "a gay-positive ministry of advocacy and justice for lesbian and gay Catholics."
