Oh dear..... The See of Vienna is yet again in the public spotlight on account of Her Prelate, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn. One continues to be quite perplexed that this Cardinal could be a close friend to our Holy Father; if the charges in the news are true.

On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with His Emminence going to luncheon with gay men. What is wrong is the politics of the matter - the wrong signals he is sending to the Faithful and UN-faithful alike. He ought to have known better. But then, this is the same Cardinal that almost allowed the "Wild west Mass" and DID preside over the Druid-esque Mass in LA.

Nevertheless, the big quesiotn here is: Why appoint a practicing homosexual to such a Roman Catholic Post, when one is FULLY cognisent of the moral implications of such an appointment?! Will this be addressed by the Heirarchy of the Magesterium, perhaps?

It isn't just the major Catholic festivals that attract such nonsense - every year for St. Patrick's day there's a professor trotted out (sometimes Irish sometimes English) to proclaim some new theory that debunks the patron saint of Ireland. Wherever the faith is perceived to be still a force the evil one stirs up this rubbish. They wouldn't do it to Islam or Judaism.

As for the Cardinal - I begin to despair of that man. I think doctrinally he's orthodox but he seems to lack the backbone to fight for the faith. In the situation reported he failed to back one of his priests who was in the right! 🤨

Romans 1: 26-32, wih emphasis on verse 32 for the benefit of Cardinal Schönborn:

For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. [27] And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error. [28] And as they liked not to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those things which are not convenient; [29] Being filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness, full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity, whisperers, [30] Detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, [31] Foolish, dissolute, without affection, without fidelity, without mercy. [32] Who, having known the justice of God, did not understand that they who do such things, are worthy of death; and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them.

Cardinal Schönborn, is everything wrong with the Church today. Europe has long ago lost its Catholic soul, and still some men in red continue to drive its souls further away from God.
