To announce the Word of God, and at the same time to help the needy. This is the problem -- spoken of in the sixth chapter of the Acts of the Apostles -- faced by the early Church, which Pope Benedict XVI explained in his catechesis at his weekly general audience in St. Peter's Square. Benedict XVI spoke about the need for balance between prayer and works of charity, emphasising the primacy of prayer.
