Time Capsule: Mike Wallace tells truth about homosexuality in 1967 documentary

The "normalization" of homosexuality--and of sexual perversions in general--since the Mike Wallace piece aired in 1967 is truly one of the most stupefying social phenomena of the last two millenia.

It shows that, as Orwell so incisively and entertainingly illustrated in _Animal Farm_ and Ionesco did rather more darkly in _Rhinoceros_, even minimally skilled propagandists can tap into herd instincts to make people believe--or, at least, publicly asseverate--just about anything, no matter how outrageous, if the propaganda is not opposed early and vigorously.

The churches once carried out this function, but, unfortunately, sometime beginning in the late 1960s, chose to disregard the many Scriptural warnings not to be seduced by the world; I fault my own denomination, the Catholic Church, for having lapsed in this vital pastoral function, all in the name of some nebulous "Spirit of the Second Vatican Council."

Now we must refashion a moral consensus that had taken two millennia of Christian teaching--or roughly 3,300 years of Judeo-Christian moral theology, if you prefer--to establish.
