Father Luis Alfredo Leon Armijos of Loja was conceived in a rape when his mother was only 13 years old. Years later, he received a call from his father, who was about to undergo surgery and was afraid. He asked his son to hear his confession and returned to the faith after 30 years of being away from the Church. Speaking about his own birth, Father Luis Alfredo said: “I could have ended up in a trash can, but I was allowed to live.” Gloria.TV comments: Dear Father Luis Alfredo, if your mother would have ended up in a Catholic hospital in Germany, they would have killed you with a morning after pill and with the blessing of the local German bishop.

Monsignor Georg Ratzinger stated yesterday in a German newspaper that his brother, Pope Benedict, will not change his attire after his resignation. Quote: „He will surely stay in his white cassock.“ „In some way, if you are once Pope you stay it forever”. On Sunday as Monsignor Ratzinger spoke to his brother, Pope Benedict still didn’t know how he will be called afterwards. Monsignor Ratzinger supposes that the Pope will keep the name Benedict without the dignity of the Holy Father.

A panel of medical experts has sparked debate by calling for the morning-after pill and condoms for pupils in Scotland. A school could not inform parents of any medical intervention without the “say-so” of the kid. Most mums and dads would be horrified to discover that their daughter had been given a potent pill without their knowledge. The parliamentary officer for the Catholic Church in Scotland, John Deighan, said that the proposal will send the wrong message to children. Quote: "Children deserve to have a childhood. Making emergency contraception available to children is a green light that that's the sort of behavior they should be involved in, and I think a lot of young girls especially want to resist that behavior.”

The inaugural congress of the Russian Ten Commandments Party took place in Moscow on February 17th. The total of 134 delegates from 45 Russian subjects, including Christians of different confessions, Muslims, and Jews, participated. Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church and Society Relations, Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, said "I hope that your activity will help to restore moral values, God's Ten Commandments in the everyday political life, in the life of our society. I hope that you will stay faithful to these God's Commandments, that you'll be able to unite a considerable number of people". Chaplin added: “Moral standards are unchangeable, "they weren't invented by people, they aren't a subject of public agreement, they were set once and for all". And "We need a real moral revolution, or counterrevolution.”
