Pope to Catholic Charismatic Renewal: Tell Them I Love Them Very Much
On Saturday, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, celebrated the Eucharist that ended the second day of the Rimini Fair of the 36th National Assembly of Catholic Charismatic Renewal. After the sign of the cross, Archbishop Fisichella gave an unexpected message, which was received with joy by the 15,000 present: an affectionate greeting from Pope Francis.
“Before beginning this celebration, I bring you a greeting. Before I left this morning, I was with Pope Francis, and I told him: “Holy Father, I have to leave soon. Well just a heads up if you don't already know the new thing the Charismatic Renewal is calling themselves is Evengelical Catholicism.. I don't know if you have heard about this stuff but it is rather awkward in my opinon and properly puts the Protestant title of "Evengelical" in front of Catholic because that's what they seem to want to put first, which implys a great deal about their Protestant …More

I don't know if you have heard about this stuff but it is rather awkward in my opinon and properly puts the Protestant title of "Evengelical" in front of Catholic because that's what they seem to want to put first, which implys a great deal about their Protestant infuleces that a majority of these "recent converts" have a drawing towards. Watch out for this nasty intellectual debacle, because it is as confusing, awkward and dangerous as an elephant on rollerskates...

Catholic Charismatics are well meaning, and often theologically orthodox, but liturgically the movement is a disaster.
