Dubious Award: Argentina’s House of Representatives passed a resolution to nominate Pope Francis for the Nobel Peace Prize for his call to end the violence in Syria. The resolution was passed by an overwhelming majority and now goes to the Senate for ratification. Should the Pope get the prize, he would become part of an unimpressive group of former prize-winners including the European Union, Barack Obama, the United Nations and Amnesty International.

You missed the really fascinating point regarding a Peace Prize for the Pope's role in blocking an American attack against Syria. WHO was it that, against the wishes of the people of America and their representatives in Congress, want to initiate the attack? And the answer is: The last winner of the Peace Prize, President Barack Hussein Obama.

On a serious note, however, there is a common thread guiding the Nobel Prize Committee, namely NO resistance to aggression. Obama's foreign policy of resisting, indeed, in cases aid, evil has alienated the Egyptian people, clear the field of tryants but not anti-Americans in order to make North Africa save for Islamic terrorists, including Al-Qaedi. That sort of peace policy leads to the peace of the grave.
