The Greatest Absentee: According to Gianni Valente, the new cardinals chosen by Pope Francis are highly indicative with 9 out of 16 chosen from the Third world. A novelty is also that many of the neo-cardinals having been parish priests for a long time. The Pope autocratically followed only his own wish list and not any prospective lists presented to him by others. The greatest absentee on the pope's list is the courageous confessor and pro-life archbishop of Brussels André-Joseph Léonard.

Healthy Moral Atmosphere: The human rights center of the World Russian People's Council supports the proposal of famous actor and now priest Ivan Okhlobystin to reinstitute homosexuality as a crime. Human rights center director and an expert of Islam, Roman Silantyev told Interfax-Religion on Friday: “The idea to return the criminal penalty for sodomy seems quite logical to me. The non-acceptance of homosexuality is a sign of healthy moral atmosphere in society along with the rejection of racism and chauvinism".

Schönborn: Practiced Homosexuality is purity

Why Bishops Are the Problem: On 8 January the Italian journalist Mario Palmaro published an open letter to the editor of a Catholic news site. The editor of the site had complained about politicians who call themselves Catholic but do not behave accordingly. Palmaro replies to him that not the politicians but the church leaders are the real problem. He specifically mentions Vienna Cardinal Christoph Schönborn as a negative example. In a lecture in Milan, Italy, Schönborn praised himself for having defended a cohabitating homosexual member of a Vienna parish council. Schoenborn described the member and his unchaste partner as - quote - "two pure young men".

Problems of Married Clergymen: Katharine Welby, the daughter of the Anglican Archbishop of Canterbury has revealed on her blog that church is where she feels at her "worst" and she “just can’t be bothered” to pray during her battle with depression. Ms Welby works for a Christian charity. She writes that she had not lost her faith but she "just didn't feel like going to God." Katharine lives in Lambeth Palace. She also writes that she had difficulty with the story of Jesus over Christmas. Quote: “Despite the apparent absurdity of it, I just can’t be bothered to give it the time it deserves.”

Thanks for the news.

As old man Schönborn seems to be unable to "discriminate" between "pure" and "poor" young men, he should resign or at least retreat and, after jesuitic exercises return to genuine catholic discrimination.
Prayers for the poor are welcome.
