Chocolate Pope: A life-size statue of Pope Francis was produced out of one ton and a half fair trade cocoa coming from a small cooperative in Guatemala. The Pope saw and tasted the statue after last Wednesday general audience.

Large Private Funeral: The funeral for Philip Seymour Hoffman who died from an overdose of heroin was held Friday morning at New York’s St Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church. In May 1994 the 116-year-old church on the Upper East Side of Manhattan was the scene of Jackie Onassis Kennedy’s funeral. The parish that is run by the Jesuits, announced yesterday on its website: “Due to a large private funeral being held in the Church at noon on Friday, 12:10 PM Mass has been cancelled.”

New Superior General: The Extraordinary General Chapter of the Legion of Christ has elected Father Eduardo Robles Gil as superior general of the order. Robles is 62 years old and Mexican. He was the territorial director in Mexico until the summer of 2013. The General Chapter further condemned the founder, Father Maciel, mentioning his sexual abuse of seminarians, his immoral acts perpetrated against men and women, his arbitrary use of authority and property of the order, his consumption of drugs and his plagiarism.

Immoral Bishop: Bishop Stephan Ackermann of Trier, Germany, believes that Catholic morals need to be changed. Christ’s prohibition of a remarriage after a divorce is for him - quote - not up-to-date. Ackermann also believes that sex before outside of a marriage is not a sin. He advocates also for contraception and homosexual fornication. A year ago, the German bishops allowed the Catholic hospitals to kill babies with the morning-after pill.

Fr. German,

While I have not been pleased (to say the least) about Pope Francis' lack of enthusiasm (to put it lightly) regarding the traditional Latin Mass, I would have to say that it's been obvious that the 2 posters you mentioned have an agenda to discredit Pope Francis as often as they possibly can while still attempting to give the appearance of impartiality. One of the 2 you mentioned claims to speak and to see Jesus Christ. If that were actually true, I wonder if Jesus told him that he should continue making his relentless attacks toward the visible Head of the Catholic Church who holds supreme and universal primacy, both of honor and of jurisdiction, over the Church established by Christ Himself.. 😇
