THE LIFE OF NO SACRAMENTS LOOMS
I am almost at the end of my efforts to help others see the need for communities in America, Great Britain and Ireland. I have written much on this subject and am personally grieved that people simply do not see the need for contacts based on love and knowledge.
No one talked about "community" until it no longer existed. Real Catholic communities have been destroyed in Europe by war, socialism, communism and the death of Christendom. In other words, there exists a vacuum where overlapping ideal formerly brought people together in the past.
In the States, because of distances and a huge, false ideal of "rugged individualism", communities hardly can be discussed among even traditional Catholics.
Too many priests and too many lay people believe that the older forms for creating community still work.
These do not. Altar and Rosary societies, Knight of Columbus, Cursio, and so on never discuss the coming upheaval of the Church. Why people …More

Dear Prof. L.W.
I do know that people can block anyone they choose from commenting on an article.
Not everyone is up to having their posts critiqued or criticized.
I have had people block me from commenting.
I again take no offence to where you place your comment{s}
I hope you are having a Holy/Lent

As long as the bishops continue as they have been doing for the last 40 years or so we will have no priests to speak of. The bishops have to go off and take a needed early retirement, and we need priests - who are real men, zealous in faith and leadership, in and out of season - teaching the Truth.

@rhemes1582, my complaint is out of desperation. I hate technology, have trouble reading the instructions on a can of tomato soup. I do not know to whom to turn to. So, I thought I would turn to an article where I did come through. Nothing to do with you. Please take no offense. Gloria.tv should take some scolding as I repeatly experience that my posting evaporate into nothing, sort of an uncreation. Ha!

I do not know to whom to write. For the article above I have type 4 times and comment and its disappears immediately. If this cannot be corrected, I must cease commenting and spare my energies.

Hello Prof. L.W.
I thought the blogger was trying to show the gravity of things. Low vocations, and an aging priesthood. Persecution/hostility too traditional moral values etc.
What comes to my mind is Mexico in the 1930s England in the 17th 18th centuries and France in the late 1700s and Russia under Stalin.
I think that is more likely the point.
Ps. I never consider your posts an attack.
Peace 🤗More

I just wanted to add. Even if 1 Catholic Priest in the world is offering the Holy Mass then, the Sacraments exist. There is no guarantee that the Sacraments will be available everywhere and anytime.
This should be a real consideration for those putting off confession...etc

On EWTN I saw a community in Russia, that when they had no priest, every Sunday they went to the old priest's grave and prayed.
Jesus only asked if He would find Faith when he returned. 😌More

If you really think that Catholicism can function without the Sacraments, you have inadvertently reduced Catholicism to an undesired from of Protestantism. No Mass, no confession, no Host, etc. I presume you mean that you cannot find a community where the Church continues its traditional ways. No Mass, no confession, no Host, etc. I presume you mean that you cannot find a community where the Church continues its traditional ways. I can say that even in Dachau under the imprisioned Catholics, priests too (ca. 3000 were murdered there) managed a Catholic worship. The problem seems to be that the hierarchy blocks traditional communities. So, either a priest who sings like a Pentecostal and women distributing communion or ....??? Your solution?
Please understand me. I am not being hostile, I am in sorrow for you and for me.
😇

Whoops, that symbol would no longer be possible in a church without sacraments.
