Fr. Kenneth Walker Shot to Death

Murder of a priest of the FSSP in Arizona ; parish priest also in critical condition
The evening of June 11 the Fraternity Rectory in Phoenix was broken into. Fr. Eric Flood, District Superior, was contacted at 2 am by the police who informed him that Fr. Kenneth Walker, FSSP had been killed and that Fr. Joseph Terra was in critical condition.

Fr. Terra’s morale is remarkably strong and he is now communicating. He has head injuries and a number of broken bones. He will have a long recovery, but his life is not in danger and he should have a full recovery. We are grateful to God and the many prayers that have been offered.
Fr. Walker’s family is strong in their faith and grateful for all of the prayers.
There will be a Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Fr. Walker offered by Fr. Flood and assisted at by Bishop Olmsted of Phoenix on Monday.
The date for the funeral Mass cannot be determined; due to the crime involved, it is still uncertain when the body of Fr. Walker can be transferred. The funeral will be in Kansas, likely near to our apostolate in Maple Hill where Fr. Walker’s parents are parishioners. Details will be provided as soon as they are known.
Fr. Flood and Fr. Berg have been overwhelmed by the number of Bishops, Religious communities, diocesan priests, and faithful form all over the world have sent their prayers and condolences. It is humbling and wonderful to see how many feel a close attachment to our priests and join us in our continual prayers for the health of Fr. Terra and the repose of the soul of Fr. Walker.
Requiem Aeternam dona ei, Domine.
Et lux perpetua luceat ei.
Requiescat in pace
