Yesterday Damian Thompson mentioned on his blog, that Cardinal Dziwisz of Krakow, former secretary of John Paul II, is accused by US-author Jason Berry of accepting charitable donations, that smoothed the way for Legionary supporters to attend the private Masses of John Paul II. Benedict XVI abandoned those semi-public occasions when he became Pope. Also, Berry reports that the Pope pushed away one of the Legion’s “charitable” bungs when it was offered to him in an envelope. His puritanical attitude towards money was one of several things that distinguished him from the curial backslappers, who were sometimes surprisingly effective at limiting Cardinal Ratzinger’s access to John Paul II. – Thompson adds.

The Vatican Confirms The Statement of Cardinal Bertone

Recently, Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone has declared that the Church's sex-abuse problem is linked to homosexuality. Now, the Vatican has issued a further confirmation of that statement. Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said that in a statistical examination of reports on clerical abuse, the Vatican has found that only 10% of the cases involved true pedophilia (abuse of small children), while 90% were cases of ephebophilia, mostly homosexual abuse of adolescents. He added that 60% of all cases involved same-sex victims.

Conference on Fertility, Infertility and Gender in Maynooth

The Linacre Centre, based in Oxford, England is bringing a diverse panel of expert speakers to Maynooth, Ireland this summer from 16-18 June for a conference on Fertility, Infertility and Gender. The interdisciplinary conference will explore a range of topics including marriage and celibacy, homosexuality, contraception and STD? prevention, IVF? and alternative forms of assisted conception. The conference will be opened by the Australian bishop and bioethicist Bishop Anthony Fisher OP.

No Gay Marriage in Italy
