In a meeting with Cardinal Severino Poletto and pilgrims from Turin, Benedict XVI announced that the Shroud of Turin will be solemnly displayed in 2010.
"If the Lord grants me life and good health, I hope to go there as well."
It will be an extremely favorable time, the Pope said, to contemplate the mysterious Face that silently speaks to men's hearts, inviting them to see the face of God. Above all, the Holy Father invited the faithful to work at being witnesses, forming others in the faith and being charitable and attentive to the needs of the poor.
