Deo gratias, chief exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth says Devil is in the Vatican

Sex abuse scandals in the Roman Catholic Church are proof that that "the Devil is at work inside the Vatican", according to the Holy See's chief exorcist.

Father Gabriele Amorth, 85, who has been the Vatican's chief exorcist for 25 years and says he has dealt with 70,000 cases of demonic possession, said that the consequences of satanic infiltration included power struggles at the Vatican as well as "cardinals who do not believe in Jesus, and bishops who are linked to the Demon".

He added: "When one speaks of 'the smoke of Satan' [a phrase coined by Pope Paul VI in 1972] in the holy rooms, it is all true including these latest stories of violence and paedophilia."

oooook I don't understand why this video is being posted here and we have a minister of the Free Church Continuing in this video suggesting that the Papacy is the anti-Christ. Quoting Thessalonians, he said "The one who takes ... who is the anti-Christ claims to be the ... takes the seat of Christ. Now Hitler didn't do that. Mohammad doesn't do that ..." He is not suggesting any particular Pope but the office.

This is a desperate attempt at stabbing the successors of Peter. As it is written in Matthew 18:16 - "And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church ..." Our first Pope, Peter, and subsequent Popes did not and does not claim to take the seat of Christ. The seat of Christ belongs to Christ Himself. What subsequent Popes take is the seat of Peter. If this minister can't get this straight, I wonder how many people without this understanding (in this program and watching this program) are swayed by his erroneous interpretation and understanding?!

I have more to say about this humanistic lady who suggests that cases of exorcisms should be placed on youtube - "maybe you'll convert a few more people." Again, comments like this including the claps that thundered in the audience just go to show how poorly these people understand things. Firstly, it is against the Church teachings to divulge this information, not because it wants to keep things hush hush. The Church had thought about the dignity and privacy of the person even before the law came in. Furthermore, I don't think any amount of evidence will convince skeptics like her and many others. They'll just brush any evidence off as mere theatricals. I can't help but feel sick to my bones that she would even suggest that any ritual that would take a vulnerable person and an impressionable person is another form of abuse. WOW, did I sense some desperate point scoring here? I'm sure her suggestion of putting videos of exorcism isn't a form of abuse given that the person will be stigmatized even after s/he is cured.

At this point, I can't help but relate her suggestion to the temptations of Jesus where the Devil quotes a verse in Psalm 91 - "For God commands the angels to guard you in all your ways. With their hands they shall support you, lest you strike your foot against a stone". In Matthew 4, the Devil told Jesus "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: 'He will command his angels concerning you and 'with their hands they will support you, lest you dash your foot against a stone.'"

Now we begin to see the parallels between her suggestion, Psalm 91 and Matthew 4. Someone can come up with seemingly reasonable suggestion (like posting videos of exorcism to foster conversion) but the ramification would be the destruction of the dignity of the person by exposing them to the world and as a consequence the Church looks bad because it has chosen to "victimize the person even more" bla bla bla. Nice try lady. What else is Satan whispering into your ears huh?
