Problem:People do not have the right to live as they choose rather they can choose how they live. Read Pope Leo XIII's Libertas Praestantissimum. He makes it clear that error and sin have no rights! God sometimes intervenes to strike against evil and at other times tolerates our imperfections, errors and sins. But when God tolerates, He does so in order to avoid a worse evil or so that a greater good will ensue. Therefore all authority should try to imitate our Creator by striking against evil … [More]

kfarley, it's simply not true that Vatican has to or will wait until the phenomenon ceases It is true Rome will wait to approve an apparition but it can be condemned at any time. e.g. If a visionary reports that the vision told them or taught them anything heretical then it can be condemned immediately(Numerous examples in Medj). Sometimes men in authority don't want to condemn visions in order not to offend followers. Rome has condemned phenomena in the past before they ceased. Rome can easily … [More]

This is nothing but political posturing to the crowd. Is Rome in charge or not? If altar rails are not to taken away, why doesn't Rome order them restored? If you are not to stand during the consecration than insist and force, if necessary, the correct practice. We had teachers like that in school who were all talk with no action. Their classes were unruly and nobody learned. "The Eucharist is not to be fighting over" What was the reformation about? All these innovations are towards Luther's … [More]

Question: If our souls are to be reunited with our bodies at the general judgment. Our bodies will share in our reward or punishment. It follows that fires of hell are phyisical and not just metaphorical. Is this not Catholic teaching?

I can't stand this stuff, but then I'm a mathematician.Try putting in "Love of Money" or "Love of self" or whatever you want.
The symmetry found in numbers is certainly beautiful, and displays His handiwork, but don't cheapen it with silly number games.

This is pathetic nonsense. Every sane person knows that we don't believe the same things. We must all follow Our Lord Jesus Christ. He founded only one Church which is one in Faith. Protestants do not believe in the sacraments(John 6), the Eastern "Orthodox" don't believe in the Papacy(Mat 16:16).
All must strive to become closer to God but how can you discuss religion with people who think that we are one when we are not one. A sincere Eastern "Orthodox" or a sincere "Protestant" may be wrong … [More]

The council does not have the same authority as other ecumenical councils precisely because it says it only has this authority if it specifically declares it(which it never did). This has also been confirmed be every pope since. Read the theological note of the council: "Taking conciliar custom into consideration and also the pastoral purpose of the present Council, the sacred Council defines as binding on the Church only those things in matters of faith and morals which it shall openly declare … [More]

With all due respect I disagree with Father Peter. Every man can pick two groups on either side and then call his own position a balanced one.Firstly, at least we agree V2 made no solemn declarations. Why? Because unlike other ecumenical councils it was declared to be pastoral. Therefore anything in the council that reiterates previous teaching must be believed without exception. Anything that is innovative must also be believed unless it contradicts previous teaching. Why? Our obedience is … [More]

In response to Father's talk, I would say that the view that last few popes are not true popes is one that is totally insane and should not be associated with the name "traditional". The main traditional view (held by SSPX and others including myself) is that Vatican II is not an infallible council as the other ecumenical councils precisely because the popes themselves said so. See Pope John XXIII's opening address to the council, also Paul VI closing address. The Nota Praevia attached to Lumen … [More]
