Mary is the mother and model of the priest, said Capuchin Father Raniero Cantalamessa, in the third and final sermon in Advent, held this morning in the Redemptoris Mater Chapel of the Apostolic Palace, before the Pope and the leaders of the Roman Curia. Mary, through the work of the Holy Spirit conceived Christ and gave birth in Bethlehem, Father Cantalamessa said. The priest, anointed and consecrated with the Holy Spirit in ordination, is also called to be filled with Christ and then to bring Him to light and let Him be born in souls through the proclamation of the Word and the administering of the sacraments.
