I have great news for you ladies out there: It’s OK to be a woman. Actually, in many cases it’s a wonderful thing. If that’s the gender in which God created you, it’s a beautiful thing to be a woman. It appears that at least in the Western world today, being a woman is just totally unfair, and instead you have to be just like a man. And if you can’t be just like a man, you have to join a brigade of militant feminists to fight for your rights to be just like a man. Why, after all you should even be able to go and die for your country if you feel so inclined.
The problem with all these agenda of the militant feminists is that they are hostile to those women (most) who wish to just be ladies. This has taken on all sorts of manifestations in all spheres of society. A little girl is immediately sent to school once she is a certain age to begin the indoctrination. She will start out in pre-school …More

Please pardon my absence from the blog for the past few months, but we here at Fix the Family practice what we teach. I have a highly seasonal occupation that “taxes” my time the first 4 months of the year as well as the end of every year, and my family is totally dependent upon my occupation for its sustenance so that my wife can tend to the higher matters of being a wife and mother in the home and is not distracted by outside employment. Nevertheless, I am back. Incidentally, this also comes at a time when my first book will be soon published and available to you, and that has occupied a great deal of my time with the Apostolate as well, in addition to the normal duties of being a husband and father for my wife and children. Be sure to also LIKE our Facebook page and follow us there. This is our principal marketing and outreach vehicle, and we are always posting and sharing relevant content there even during my busy seasonal time. All is well at the Citadel I am happy to report, and …More

4 Stages of Denial of the Sin of Immodest Dress
Posted By Raylan Alleman at Sunday, October 18, 2015
It is very refreshing today to see how much the issue of the requirement of modesty in dress among women and girls is raised amidst some of the worst conditions of dress in recent history. This is just a start toward regaining some dignity around the mode of dress of the young ladies of today, and as usual it will have to come from those in the Catholic Church. Among the religions who claim to be Christian, it is only the Catholic Church that has stuck to unchanging moral principles for its faithful to follow.
Still there are many Catholics who are in denial that the way a person (principally a woman) dresses could be an actual sin. In reading different replies and commentaries on the subject I have observed the following progression through some stages of denial of the sin of immodest dress:
1. I’m just dressing comfortably and fashionably. This would seem to be the stage of a pagan …More

A testimonial shared with permission--
Dear Friends in Christ at "Fix the Family" -
I just wanted to send you a little note thanking you for what you are doing. A brief introduction - I am 24 - soon to be engaged - and just started attending the Latin Mass January of this year with the sweet man I am courting. I graduated college last year 2014 with a degree in piano. I grew up with a strong influence and encouragement from family and friends to get at least a bachelor's degree - with high hopes from everyone of my being a concert pianist, and maybe having a family several years down the road.
I did grow up Catholic and home-schooled, but not with a strong sense of the faith in my own home - and my parents stopped going to Mass a year or two before I went to college. I also fell away from the church in college, but my senior year I began coming back to the church and God slowly began transforming my heart from a cultural/secular outlook to a more conservative/godly one. This year has …

During Mass this past Sunday, the Priest explained in his homily the required elements of a Catholic Church building. Every Catholic Church must have a pulpit, a confessional, and an altar. He went on to apply these elements to the domestic church we should each have in our homes. I thought this would be a good theme for a reflection in applying his instruction in our homes.
The Pulpit – The pulpit in our homes would include all of the Holy books and instructional material available for our families to read and study, principally the Holy Bible as well as catechisms, volumes on the lives of the saints, religious classics, prayer books, and other authoritative documents.
It is a joy for me as a father to share the Catholic Faith with my family and to pass it on to my children. The richness of our Faith is the true Heritage that we give to them that transcends any ethnicity or nationality. In our family, we have gradually accumulated many great Works for study and learning of our entire …More

Benefiting from the Adversity God Sends Us.
Often the adversities we encounter through no fault of our own include an opportunity for learning and growing. We don't necessarily need to view them as punishments but to seek God's assistance to endure them and learn from them. This is the way God strengthens men.
