My dear children and my children – the ones of my heart! This is for Fr Hayden and Fr David to pass on to the people.
My children, many are those who are taken up with work: the wife works, the husband works. At times they meet, at others they do not. They scarcely see each other, being taken up with work. Indeed, my children, such a situation is in your country too. Children are losing contact with their parents, whose one concern is to deck the house out with everything and not to miss having anything. Where is the time for communication among them to be found? How are they to relish Christian values together? My Son Jesus too at one time went through such an incident in a family: one sister began to complain that the other had not gone to give a helping hand.
My Son Jesus immediately replied.
It is not that work is not important. It is not that money is not important. Indeed they are necessary. But on placing all on weighing-scales, where would you find the faith that your father Saint Paul brought to you? It is not in feasts and fireworks! Where is your true Christian faith?
Soon, in a few days time, you will begin to pit one Saint against another!
My children, do not return to such erroneous idolatry. Take religion seriously. Take it meaningfully and not as so much smoke. Bring your father Saint Paul to mind. Remember him, my children. Bring to mind what faith your ancestors had in him. He brought you to Jesus – who now is sending me here to this hill of Borg in-Nadur. I did not come by ship. Indeed not. I did not come in a storm. Indeed not. Yet for some I am causing a great storm, for they refuse to comprehend.
Rather, you are to be careful not to get caught in a storm, my children. Tonight I encourage you once again to pray much for the sons of my heart. Yes, do love them and pray much for them. They require your prayer so as to remain strong. You are to be the ones by whom the sons of my heart are strengthened by their prayer.
