Pope Benedict XVI held a public vigil last weekend to pray specifically for the protection of all human life. The Holy Father understands that just as the violence of abortion is public, so too must our prayers for life be public. It's not enough to pray for unborn children, the disabled and elderly in our hearts -- we must pray for them as church community in public, as well.
