Shock: Yesterday Patrick Archbold published in the National Catholic Register an online article which was removed within minutes. In it he had pleaded that the recent video appeal of Pope Francis vigorously calling for unity between Catholics and Evangelicals be also applied to the SSPX. After the removal Archbold wrote on his website creativeminorityreport.com: “I am still in a state of shock.” The article was removed, - quote – “even though I had advance clearance to run it.”

The Censured Text: This is the statement in which Pope Francis speaks about division in the Church which the National Catholic Register seemingly does not want to be applied to the SSPX. The Pope said: “It’s sin that has separated us, all our sins - the misunderstandings throughout history. It has been a long road of sins that we all shared in. Who is to blame? We all share the blame. We have all sinned. There is only one blameless, the Lord.”

Benedict Says the Same: Archbold points out that Benedict XVI writes almost the same in Summorum Pontificum: “One continually has the impression that, at critical moments when divisions were coming about, not enough was done by the Church’s leaders to maintain or regain reconciliation and unity.” And: “This glance at the past imposes an obligation on us today.”

The Warning: Archbold observes that since the election of Pope Francis traditional Catholics both inside and outside the Church have felt increasingly marginalized. Quote: “I have great concern that without all the generosity that faith allows by the leaders of the Church, that this separation, this wound on the Church, will become permanent.” But Archbold believes that Pope Francis’ is the right Pope to resolve the problem because nobody doubts his commitment to the last Council.

The Proposal: Archbold begs Francis to normalize the standing of the SSPX within the Church. Quote: “I am asking the Pope to do this even without the total agreement on the Second Vatican Council.” And: “I think that the Church needs to be more generous toward unity than to insist upon dogmatic adherence to the interpretation of a non-dogmatic council.”

The Appeal: Archbold ends with an appeal: “Please Holy Father, let us not let this moment pass and this rift grow into a chasm. Make this generous offer and save the Church from further division. Do this so that none of your successors will ever say, “If only we had done more.””

The Lord's Prayer in Latin:
PATER noster, qui es in caelis, sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua,
sicut in caelo et in terra
. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut
et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

"... Our heavenly Father, hallowed is your name.
Your Kingdom is come. Your will is done,
As in heaven so also on earth.
Give us the bread for our daily need.
And leave us serene,
just as we also allowed others serenity.
And do not pass us through trial,
except separate us from the evil one.
For yours is the Kingdom,

To the end of the universe, of all the universes." Amen!

thanks to guys here I think I am begining to understand traditionalist...
evil is in church you are so right...

I doubt it has to do with ritus or language...

Jesus wasnt speaking latin...so holy language should be Aramaic..dont you think???

My father remembers latin mass and I admire those replies truly...hard to remember ...

even if I dont see God as traditionalist or liberal... 😀
I founded God between protestants...I really needed Scripture to start believe and establish relationship...catholic tradition and liturgy itself didnt show me God...sorry...it actually disguised me and I know many people who feels the same...I cant imagine how those react when it isnt even in their language... 🙄 But I really begining to be in love in latin prayers...
Agnus Dei.....how beautifull...I dont know...other than Our Father in Arameic...though..
that is wrong because pope Francis said,,it is just a fashion"...and he meant
But I consider greatly important to go deep into things, because if we do not go deep, no liturgical form, this or that one, can save us.“
I read protestants...well they look down on us...really they think we dont know Scripture and we believe catechism...
I read one protestant theologist that converted to catholicism and he was disguised by catholic dont even know catechism...they just know rituals and they are sick of them too..

this same person discovered Scripture really proves catholic doctrines..and discovered Eucharist based on Scripture too..he wanted to convert and catholic priest told him not to since II vatican council says about ecumenism...he should teach what he learned...stay where he belongs
He couldnt believe actually catholic prest told him he doesnt need Eucharist....

same thing with story about group of Anglican came to pope BenedictXVI....he told them to stay in their own denomination...

was it priests celibacy ...I dont know...cant find that story...but here is about problem
,,,,
Benedict's latest ruling confirms and expands earlier ad-hoc decisions by Pope John Paul II to allow several married Anglican priests to convert and remain in the clergy.

Under the new structure, groups of Anglicans can move into a local Catholic Church that will be headed by former Anglican clergy, who can ease them into Catholicism without their having to kiss goodbye their own pastor or the rites they were raised on. Married Anglican priests who convert, like married priests in the Eastern Rite of Catholicism, will not be eligible to become bishops.

Oh by the way
Protest-ants say today, 500 years of protest is over.
They want to be called Catholics again.

The word catholic (with lowercase c; derived via Late Latin catholicus, from the Greek adjective καθολικός (katholikos), meaning "universal"

The term Catholic (usually written with uppercase C in English) was first used to describe the Christian Church in the early 2nd century to emphasize its universal scope. In the context of Christian ecclesiology, it has a rich history and several usages. In non-ecclesiastical use, it derives its English meaning directly from its root, and is currently used to mean the following:
universal or of general interest;
liberal, having broad interests, or wide sympathies;[6] or
inclusive, inviting and containing strong evangelism.
The term has been incorporated into the name of the largest Christian communion, the Catholic Church (also called the Roman Catholic Church). However, many other Christians use the term "Catholic" (sometimes with a lower-case letter "c") to refer more broadly to the whole Christian Church or to all believers in Jesus Christ regardless of denominational affiliation.[7][8] Theologians writing in English will sometimes use the term "Church Catholic" or "Church catholic" to avoid confusion between this concept and the Catholic Church.[citation needed]
The Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, Anglicans, Lutherans, and some Methodists believe that their churches are "Catholic" in the sense that they are in continuity with the original universal church founded by the Apostles. However, each church defines the scope of the "Catholic Church" differently. 🤨

btw
Traditional faithful like myself are ridiculed by own priests in Ottawa just for kneeling for Communion and requesting Cross for the Altar.
I had to leave my Polish Parish with modern Oblats in 2014 and has found refuge at St Mary Parish as many other Polish scattered in Ottawa did.
Father Roger at St Mary has just installed new railings and is taking serious steps to bring back old Liturgy with Gregorian singing and more Latin language during the Mass celebration.
Sanctus, Sanctus..
Agnus Dei
and as I have always remembered we pray Archangel Michael Prayer..after Mass
I live near the Parish of St Mary
We are blessed with Companion of the Cross' priets here.

look for Fr Bob Bedard story...from St Mary Church...
since 1985 when he founded Companion of the Cross we have 40 +40 new priests and nuns!
It would be a huge news for Your Chanel.

If the Pope had made a similar appeal to the SSPX he would have encountered a global outburst of dismay inside and outside the Church, although the SSPX does hold positions (as Archbold points out) that less than fifty years ago were mainstream Catholic positions while the Pentecostals are (among other things) also Sedevacantists because they do not recognize the Pope as successor of Saint Peter. …More

There is something deeply wrong in all of this.

Should not we, as good educators, also be capable of overlooking various faults and making every effort to open up broader vistas? And should we not admit that some unpleasant things have also emerged in Church circles? At times one gets the impression that our society needs to have at least one group to which no tolerance may be shown; which one can easily attack and hate." (Benedict XVI, Letter to Bishops, 2009)
