Both ways: Trustees at the Jesuit Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles voted on Monday to eliminate health insurance coverage of abortions for faculty and staff. However, the university will provide an option for employees to seek out abortion coverage at their own expense. Christopher Kaczor, philosophy professor at LMU said to CBS: “The decision basically is something like this: We think abortion is intrinsically evil and wrong so we’re not going to drive you there, but let me arrange for my brother to take you there if you give him a couple bucks he’ll take care of you.”

Monstrance stolen: On Monday afternoon, a man walked into the adoration chapel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española, New Mexico grabbed the monstrance and ran out the door dropping part of it in the parking lot. One worshiper followed the suspect who got away. On Tuesday afternoon police arrested 39-year-old Isaac Morfin. The stolen monstrance and the consecrated host were recovered at Morfin's home. It's still unclear what was his motive for stealing it.

Viewpoint censorship: Since 2011 the National Religious Broadcasters' John Milton Project for Free Speech has documented a rise in "viewpoint censorship" targeting Christian values from organizations like Facebook and Google. An example: Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee's page supporting Chick-fil-A because of the founder's opposition to same-sex marriage was temporarily removed from Facebook. In contrast, anti-Christian pages were not removed.

The Gay obsession advances: Catholic Providence College in Rhode Island was under pro-gay media scrutiny last month after temporarily cancelling a speech by gay activist John Corvino. Now, School President Fr. Brian Shanley announced that the College has added sexual orientation and gender identity to it's official non-discrimination clause. He cited other allegedly Catholic institutions such as Boston College, Georgetown University, and Holy Cross which have adopted similar policies. Corvino’s speech has been rescheduled. Gloria.tv wonders whether these so called “Catholic colleges” will give equal rights to speakers who present the Church's view on the gay agenda.
