Bishop Fellay on Pope Francis (Video)

Michael Matt provides commentary on new video of Bishop Fellay's bombshell address on Rome and the so-called "SO" at the recent Angelus Press Conference.

Bishop Fellay, Superior General of the Society of St. Pius X, gave an extensive lecture on Oct.12, 2013 that focused on the Third Secret of Fatima, and its apparent prediction of both a material chastisement and a great crisis in the Church.

Permit me please to add an additional 2 cents worth. For those of you on this blog who think ill of the SSPX - we have earned your anger and frustration and I am ashamed of it. I haven't always agreed with everything the SSPX has done, but - they are family - we may not agree with everything our family say or do but we don't stop loving and supporting them. We have some good priests (brilliant in fact) and we have other priests who should never have been allowed in the Seminary. Bishop Fellay is by all accounts a good and holy man, but using the term 'evil' to describe a Mass that is celebrated by 99% of Churches worldwide is shameful and I am deeply sorry for the hurt people may feel hearing that. Then in the same breath he asks the attendees to be charitable to their neighbour - "Well Your Excellency one ought to practice charity first". It is the most uncharitable gesture to intimate that all people who attend the 'norvus Ordo' are participating in an 'evil'.. that is an appalling thing to say. I adore Bishop Fellay with all my heart - I will always love and respect him, - he is our Superior General - but I am disappointed. I have never known Bishop Fellay to be so harsh and cruel.

Let's not forget he was ordained Bishop at 30. So in my humble view he has done more for the SSPX then anyone in the nearly 20 years as Superior General. Having said …More

Let's not forget he was ordained Bishop at 30. So in my humble view he has done more for the SSPX then anyone in the nearly 20 years as Superior General. Having said this can I say I was 'disturbed' by the applause of the conference attendees when Bishop Fellay called the Norvus Ordo 'evil' and 'bad'. That was horrible. I don't know of anyone else on this blog, but I am in fact a parishioner of the SSPX and regularly attend their Masses and I have a strong admiration for Bishop Fellay - BUT - the applause that followed that unnecessary comment were quite frankly disturbing. Inflammatory statements like that sow division they do not cultivate unity and harmony in the Church.
