Blocked by an Intervention from the Church of England
UK
An effort to amend the Act of Settlement was blocked by an intervention from the Church of England, the London Daily Telegraph reports. The Act of Settlement bars any Catholic from succession to the British throne. Nick Clegg, the deputy prime minister, had been working to repeal the Act of Settlement, which was originally passed in 1701. According to the Telegraph, Anglican leaders pointed to the incongruity of having a Catholic serve as Supreme Governor of the Church of England.
Prayer and Evangelism in Downtown Chicago
USA
The Heralds of Divine Mercy have placed an image of Divine Mercy during a nine-day campaign of 24-hour prayer and evangelism in the middle of Daly Plaza in Downtown Chicago. Some participants remain in prayer. Others take their turn distributing cards that promote the message of God's mercy. Michael Sullivan, a 40-year-old lawyer, developed the idea earlier this year. He said: “The Divine Mercy Project is really about having an opportunity to witness to the culture, in environments we're normally pushed out of.”
It Was Not the Initiative of the Pope
Internet
The blog Rorate Caeli has published a personal letter of the Pope concerning the forthcoming Assisi-meeting. The letter was written to German Protestant theologian Peter Beyerhaus. He says about it: "It can be derived from the letter that the initiative for this anniversary event, which he indeed considered necessary, apparently did not stem from him” – Beyerhaus writes: And: “The Pope will, however, attend and, as he writes literally, 'try, to determine the direction of the whole and do everything in his power to render impossible a syncretic or relativistic explanation of the happening.”

It is good to witness to our Faith and to Jesus Christ, the Truth, the Way, and the Life. We should be doing much more of this, rather than having to view muslims taking to the streets all over the world.
Indeed..... as the psalm says, "My Lord said unto my Lord sit thou on my right". This is first used by Ambrose and appears in Gregory the Great's letter to a fellow bishop 'newly consecrated'- He is risen unto the Lord: God the Son is raised up from death by God the Holy Spirit unto God the Father. Indeed..... as the psalm says, "My Lord said unto my Lord sit thou on my right". This is first used by Ambrose and appears in Gregory the Great's letter to a fellow bishop 'newly consecrated'- He is risen unto the Lord: God the Son is raised up from death by God the Holy Spirit unto God the Father. The Trinitarian aspect is clearer here; a tremendous event occuring within the depths of the Triune Godhead. The antiphon "surrexit Domino vere" appears in the Benaventuran manuscript as well as the Gallican.
On the other hand, in the Liber Usualis of 1961, we see the communion "surrexit dominus et apparuit Petro" and then again in the alleluias "surrexit dominus vere"....and "surrexit dominus de sepulcro". The Trinitarian element is now gone. Nevertheless, still powerful and apt!
Therefore, I think the two are equally apt and applicable. However, the earlier version of the antiphon with it's Trinitarian import is richer in my oppinion. This is why is prefer "surrexit domino..." rather than "surrexit dominus". HOWEVER, the dividing up of the Trinity, though understood as ONE, just might be food for heresy (!). I reckon this was a factor is amending the grammar, perhaps?
Sorry I was not clearer before....
