The church belongs to the church of Sweden but pilgrims, both lutherans and catholics go there to adore the relics of S:t Bridget (Den Heliga Birgitta av Vadstena), Patroness of Europe. The church was inaugurated in 1430. This is the annual pilgrimage of the catholic diocese of Sweden, with bishop Anders Arborelius OCD.
