Biking for Their Schools: Father Terry Anderson of Huron and Father Mark Lichter of Yankton in Sioux Falls Diocese are getting on their bikes for the second time to ride in a friendly competition to see who raises the most money for their schools. They will be visiting a different Catholic School every day in their Diocese. Students from both schools will be collecting pledges for each mile of their journey across South Dakota.

Prayer is Lawful: The U.S. Supreme Court has stated that the prayers at the town meetings in Greece, New York, which reflect that nearly all local congregations are Christian do not violate the First Amendment. Catholic Justice Kennedy’s opinion notes that “such prayer has long been understood as compatible with the Amendment and that an insistence on nonsectarian prayer is not consistent with this tradition.” He was jointed by the Catholic Chief Justice and Catholic Justice Alito. One Catholic and three Jewish Justices dissented.

End of an Illusion: Gene Robinson, formerly married, and later the first homosexual Anglican bishop has announced he is divorcing from his gay accomplice. The two entered into a civil union in 2008. It was converted to a – quotations-mark - marriage when New Hampshire legalized gay marriage in 2010. Robinson’s election as an Anglican bishop in 2003 led to a major schism.
