Benedict XVI received Yulia Tymoshenko, the Prime Minister of the Ukraine, in an audience on October 19th . During their cordial conversation, they spoke about issues relating to the promotion of peace and international cooperation within the context of Europe. Their conversation centered on the contribution that both rites within the Catholic Church has to offer to the Ukrainian Society, above all in the fields of education and the spreading of human and Christian values. Moreover, they spoke about topics of common interest in regard to the relationship between civil and religious authorities, hoping that the recent positive advances help to solve some of the pending problems.
