On the fifth Sunday of Lent, 53 years old French Rabbi Rivon Krygier was scheduled to give a Lenten Conference in the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. Such conferences are held all over France in preparation for Easter. The archbishop of Paris, André Vingt-Trois introduced Krygier. But when the rabbi approached the microphone a group of faithful started loudly praying the rosary making it impossible for Krygier to continue. He had to leave the cathedral and deliver his lecture from the sacristy. The protesters declared that they did not have anything against Krygier but that he was the wrong person to give a conference in preparation for the feast of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

As long as Ireland has had pubs, Good Friday has been off-limits as a "dry" holy day — until now. A Limerick judge ruled last week that the city's 110 pubs can open April 2 because the city is hosting a major Irish rugby match attracting tens of thousands of visitors. This will be the first time in the history of the Republic of Ireland that pubs anywhere in the country will open on Good Friday.

Such acts – quote - “are expressions of superstitious beliefs and are usually done out of the need for money and for tourism purposes, which is totally wrong,” said Bishop Rolando Tirona of Infanta, who instead recommended “fasting, abstinence, prayer, reflection, and almsgiving.”

Cardinal John Njue of Nairobi has again urged lawmakers who are drafting a new Kenyan constitution to amend a clause that declares that life begins at birth. Calling upon lawmakers to recognize that life begins at conception, the cardinal said on March 24 that “the Catholic Church strongly feels the fight against abortion is the fight for the family.”

If this attempt of allowing a jew who does not believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah to speak in our Churches, the Catholics should INSIST that if the jew is going to be given this opportunity, then they MUST allow the Catholics to speak there also as to what the jews "holy" book the TALMUD says about Jesus, His Mother, and all Gentiles!
That should put an end to it all!More

You are right he could not be the right person to prepare us catholics for easter... because he does not beleive that Jesus is the Messiah, he is a rabbi he should be teaching his church not ours with all due respect to him... We are Catholics with our own identity with our own faith no one can prepare us outside the church, for the great mystery …More
