In July 2022, Don Mattia Bernasconi celebrated a Novus Ordo Mass waist-deep in the sea off Crotone, using an inflatable mattress as an “altar.” Since September 1, he has overseen the Archdiocese’s pastoral work with university students, while continuing as chaplain at Humanitas University, a position he has held since 2023.

There are so few African-American bishops because of “racism,” Washington Auxiliary Bishop Robert Boxie said in a September 7 interview with Catholic News Service. He was appointed by Pope Leo XIV on May 1. The numbers: Of 268 active U.S. bishops, five (2%) are Black. Black Americans make up 2% of U.S. Catholics and, over the past 20 years, about 2% of U.S. priestly ordinations.

Bishop Schneider: Document Against Co-Redemptrix Will One Day Be Cancelled Synodality is a “very cunning code word to undermine Catholic doctrine”, Bishop Athanasius Schneider told AdVaticanum on September 10. He believes the vagueness of the word is deliberate, a means of gradually adapting Catholic doctrine, morality and ecclesial structures to Protestantism and contemporary attitudes toward sexuality. Monsignor Schneider calls synodality the height of the modernist movement, leading toward relativism. He adds that this openness has one notable exception: the traditional Latin Mass. “This document will be cancelled” Responding to the document Mater Populi Fidelis against the Marian titles Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix of All Graces, Bishop Schneider argues that the Church cannot cancel language found in missals and used by popes, saints and Doctors of the Church. Ich habe die Szene, die hier gezeigt wird, als ein Flugzeug in hohem Bogen in das WTC II flog, im Fernsehen in Nahaufnahme und gestochen scharf gesehen und war sofort misstrauisch. Erster verdächtiger Punkt: Warum war die Kamera die ganze Zeit im perfekten Winkel auf das WTC II gerichtet, als plötzlich von links oben das Flugzeug herein kam und durch die Kurve rechts unten einschlug?
