Armed forces prayer ban: Spiritual neutrality is void of soul

Armed forces prayer ban: Spiritual neutrality is void of soul Bishop Scott McCaig, centre, Canada’s Military Ordinariate. Photo from X Many have been shocked and dismayed by the new Canadian Forces General Instruction from the Commander of Military Personnel (CANFORGEN), issued July 29, decreeing a “spiritual neutrality” upon all Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Chaplains whilst they function in any public ceremony that would have historically included prayers. In so doing, a “new, modern Prometheus,” a new “Act of Supremacy” has been created. Nowhere in the history of human religious faith expression has there ever been a definition of “The Spirit” as being neutral. The Spirit, regardless of any faith that currently may be ascribed to by humanity, is anything but neutral. If anything, it is the inclination to act, to justify and to defend the honour of the godhead of one’s own religious beliefs or lack thereof. Neutrality, with respect to a faith, may seem to exist only in the realm of …

Irish Female Preacher at Eucharist: "I’d Love to See Women Priests"
Worse than Germany: On 13 August, Irish TV broadcaster Mary Kennedy delivered the homily during the 'National Novena' at Knock Basilica, Ireland. Kennedy is divorced, has had subsequent relationships and said she “shouldn’t really be receiving Holy Communion” but is an “à la carte Catholic”. She added, “that’s the kind of Catholic that suits me.” Furthermore, Kennedy said that she loves “the sound of the Muslim call to prayer”. Later in the address, Kennedy criticised what she described as the “male-dominated” ministry: “I would love to see women priests. I really would.”

On 13 August 2026, Irish broadcaster Mary Kennedy delivered a roughly 15-minute guest address entitled “Faith in Full View” during the National Novena to Our Lady of Knock in Knock Basilica, Co. Mayo, following the Gospel: “I would like it if it weren’t such a male-dominated ministry. I think there is real value in having women in important positions in the Church. It’s not going to change in my lifetime, or in the lifetimes of other people present here, but I really do feel that women would have a huge contribution to make to the Church, and I would love to see women priests. I really would.”

Not in any manner a tribute to Our Lady of Knock. 'Faithlessness in full view', they must mean.

On October 7, 1953, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, during the consecration of the Fatima Basilica, the Patriarch of Lisbon, Cardinal Cerejeira, delivered a speech in which he described Fatima as " a wonderful anti-Russia. Russia has taken on the role of anti-Rome, or rather, the Rome of the Antichrist. It is leading the attack of militant atheism against the Christian Church in the world. It desires to destroy the Kingdom of God on earth. It professes the blasphemous Gospel – the salvation of man by his own efforts, without Christ." Kontekst fatimski (5)

‘Saints and Holy Prayers’ ~ compiled from devout resources of the Saints' sites. Pages 85-95

The Golden Arrow
May the most holy, most sacred, most adorable
, most mysterious and unutterable Name of God be always praised, blessed, loved, adored and glorified, in heaven, on earth and under the earth, by all the creatures of God, and by the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the most holy Sacrament of the altar.
The Golden Arrow was revealed by Our Lord Jesus Christ to a Carmelite nun of Tours in 1843 as a reparation for blasphemy. The sin of blasphemy was said to be a 'poisoned arrow' more grievous than all other sins. It follows that this prayer would most especially be appropriate after hearing the Holy Name blasphemed, and in reparation for such blasphemy generally. Jesus said: 'This Golden Arrow will wound My Heart delightfully, and heal the wounds inflicted by blasphemy.

@brhenry the mistake that I and many others made/make is drawing the line at Quo Primum on the belief that the Mass cannot be changed. A pope cannot legally bind the legislative power of his successor. Pope St. Pius V even altered his codified Missal. The Tridentine Reform was not to create a new mass but to get rid of the garbage. The problem during his time is the same now. The Mass was codified to stop liturgical abuse. The Novus Ordo is the apotheosis of abuse. Unlike any liturgical changes prior to VCII, there was always a respect for what came before and preservation of continuity. The new mass doesn't try for continuity but erasure; No preservation only a declaration of obsolescence. I have answered your question, and I have one for you. Why the disdain and animosity for the Tridentine Mass? What, in your opinion, makes the Novus Ordo better?

U.S. Airman Says He Would Accept Punishment for Protesting Iran War
Major Watson characterized the war in Iran as an act of American aggression and compared the U.S. military actions to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Maj. Jason Watson, a U.S. airman arrested after calling for President Trump’s removal over the Iran War, said on Monday that he was willing to accept punishment for his dissent.
An active-duty officer can be punished for “disloyal statements” or “contemptuous words” against the commander in chief and high-ranking government officials, an offense that can lead to dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of pay and a monthslong prison sentence.
“If I don’t put myself out there in a big way, then it’s just noise,” Major Watson said on Monday in an interview on CNN. “What is the highest price that I am willing to pay? And this is what I ultimately came up with.”

A GTV poster who has me blocked has posted an ominous "prophecy" by Brandon Dale Biggs about the Holy Land. Brandon Dale Biggs "predicted" the Butler event, which most people now realize was a stage show. Catholics should also know that the prophecies since the apostles are always conditional, are designed to help the faithful, and always involve the Blessed Mother in some way.

This article is not strictly about human rights but about a particular psychology (or rather, a psychosis) that Carter has been promoting internationally with great fanfare.
Of course, I will not address the whiny or festive support — depending on the mood of the various circles — that this campaign receives in leftist circles. Since leftism is the great beneficiary of the worldwide “Carterian” wave favoring subversives and terrorists, it is perfectly normal that the entire left should be sympathetic to it.
What particularly attracts my attention, however, is that countless non-leftists take an illogical stance on this issue, which I will discuss next.
By non-leftist, I mean here especially the bourgeois, large, medium, or small, perfectly jealous of his individual interests, and who follows with a hurried and vague gaze the news concerning trifles that lie outside that circle. Does he have religious or political …More

US diesel crack surpasses $100 a barrel for the first time on supply disruptions

US diesel crack surpasses $100 a barrel for the first time on supply disruptions | BOE Report

The U.S. diesel crack, a key measure of refining profitability, hit an all-time high of $102.20 a barrel on Monday as global supply disruptions from the wars in Iran and Ukraine run into peak agricultural consumption season. Measured as the premium of U.S. diesel futures over U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures, the U.S. diesel crack was trading at $99.82 a barrel, up 2.4% from Friday, as of 11:56 a.m. ET. The crack has hit new intraday record highs in five of the last six sessions, reflecting growing concerns about fuel availability as fresh attacks on Middle Eastern refineries added to existing supply disruptions. Global refinery crude throughput averaged 80.9 million barrels per day in July, down about 5 million bpd from a year ago, the International Energy Agency said in a monthly report last week. The most immediate hit from surging diesel cracks is to farmers who need the fuel to power tractors, harvesters and other equipment, during the ongoing harvest season in the …

So Trump comes out and declares the strait is open again — completely made up, and who even believes him at this point? But "belief" is not the point. The headlines go out, and the high-frequency algorithmic trading pushes the oil prices back down. These markets have been completely manipulated by their statements:
1. Not just to make billions through insider trading
2. Not just to push people into confusion and learned helplessness
3. But to absolutely prevent any natural demand destruction
... meaning, usually if the world is running out of something, the price rises. That's the most basic supply/demand concept. It's been undermined by this cycle of nonsense announcements and manipulated markets — and this is GUARANTEEING that we are going into an absolutely worst-case "hard landing" scenario: the engineered energy crisis that will require fuel rationing and cause massive inflation across commodities, transportation, cost of living...everything.

Lourdes Bans FSSPX Masses: On August 13, Bishop Jean-Marc Micas of Tarbes and Lourdes, France, issued a statement concerning the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) pilgrimage to Lourdes. He cited the episcopal consecrations at Écône on July 1 and the subsequent decree of the Holy See. The FSSPX is no longer authorized to celebrate Mass or other sacraments inside the Lourdes Sanctuary, nor to organize public prayers there. Individual pilgrims remain free to pray privately. Bishop Micas wrote that he was aware the decision would cause “pain” and “perhaps incomprehension.” The FSSPX had held organized public worship at Lourdes for many years, including Masses, confessions, processions and public prayers within the Sanctuary.

For the record, the excommunication are on appeal. Under canon Law they are suspended until a final determination is made. The FSSPX has a very strong case on multiple grounds that would place them is a very favorable position of prevailing before a fair tribunal.
Whether they will have that fair tribunal remains to be seen, but until there is a final determination by the Pope, even in the eyes of the Conciliarists they are every bit as valid as the judgmental bishop who banned them from Lourdes. The bishop should withdraw his ruling and apologize.
