Don't Let Sin Defile God's Temple
The gospel reading describes Jesus weeping over Jerusalem for its lack of faith and turning the temple into a den of thieves. This reading is a call to examine ourselves, as we are the temple of the Lord, and to ensure we are not stealing from God what belongs to Him. St. Paul warns against idolatry, covetousness, and fornication, urging us to prioritize our faith and avoid distractions.
St. Paul’s letter to the Corinthians emphasizes the need for holiness, urging us to reject impurity, covetousness, gossip, and bad language. Fr. Altier stresses the importance of prayer and living a life that reflects Christ, even if it means being different from the world. He encourages us to start small in improving our prayer life and to continually strive for holiness, making our souls a worthy temple for the Lord.
