HOW IS HOLY MASS BEING OFFERED IN THE DIOCESE OF MANCHESTER IN NEW HAMPSHIRE?
The Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in the diocese of Manchester in New Hampshire, USA, accept and interpret , Magisterial Documents rationally, traditionally, non schismatically and honestly. But Bishop Peter Libasci, the bishop of Manchester, Fr. Georges de Laire the Judicial Vicar and the rest of the Curia do not do the same.
Canonically, the bishop and Curia must affirm in public, the Nicene Creed, the Apostles Creed and the Athanasius Creed, in their original understanding. They don’t. Instead Fr. Georges de Laire has placed legal prohibitions upon the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and indicates that the issue is doctrinal. They affirm the dogma EENS in the original. He does not. They interpret the baptism of desire as being invisible cases in 2025-2026. For him the baptism of desire is an exception for the dogma EENS. So he implies it is not an invisible case. The Athanasius Creed, in the original did not have any exceptions. For him there are exceptions….
There is confusion on the Diocese of Manchester website. The Curia has not responded to the Doctrinal Statement of Brother André Marie micm, Prior of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the SBC in NH. The Statement is still there on the website of the community, Catholicism.org
Canonically, Holy Mass cannot be offered in NH, in English or Latin, when the priests interpret Vatican Council II and the Catechisms, dishonestly and the laity and the religious community are honest, rational and orthodox. There are two interpretations of Vatican Council II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, one is rational and the other is irrational, in New Hampshire.
Since 2019, the Juridical Vicar, who filed a defamation case against Michael Voris and Church Militant TV, refuses to answer questions in public. He rejects the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS) of the Council of Florence 1442, since there are alleged examples, of visible cases of the baptism of desire (LG 14) and being saved in invincible ignorance (LG 16) mentioned in Vatican Council II, for him. There is no denial from the Chancellor.
Sister Mary Peter MICM is the Mother Prioress of the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at the St. Benedict Center, NH.For her the Athanasius Creed does not have any exceptions. But Bishop Libasci and Fr. Georges de Laire cannot say the same. So there are two interpretations of Magisterial Documents in Catholic NH.
She accepts hypothetical cases of the baptism of desire. The baptism of desire exists only in our mind. It can be known only to God in particular cases. So the baptism of desire is not an exception for EENS according to the Council of Florence 1442 (Feeneyite EENS). For the Curia the BOD is an exception for Feeneyite EENS. In other words the baptism of desire is physically visible. But invisible people cannot be visible exceptions for the dogma EENS in 1949-2025.Somrone has to exist in our human reality to be an exception. This is common sense and was known over the centuries.
So at the St. Philomena’s Convent, in NH, invisible cases of CCC 847-848 cannot contradict CCC 845-846 in the Catechism of Pope John Paul II. It is not the same for Archbishop Augustine did Noia op, Secretary of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, Vatican.
For Sister Mary Peter and the community at St. Philomena Convent, the Nicene Creed says, ‘I believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins’.It refers to the baptism of water, which is visible and repeatable. We cannot give anyone the baptism of desire.
But for the Curia of the diocese, it is a reference to two or more baptisms (desire, blood etc). They are allegedly visible and so are explicit exceptions for the dogma EENS etc.
If they were not explicitly visible for Fr. Gorges de Laire he would be affirming the dogma EENS and the Decree of Prohibitions would be applied to him. With so much of confusion on the Creeds, Councils and Catechisms how can the bishop and priests offer Holy Mass in New Hampshire? – Lionel Andrades
