Msgr. Indunil Kankanamalage, Secretary of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, attended the Tri Hita Karana Universal Reflection Ceremony in Bali. It was “anchored by an interfaith prayer” and included a Bumi Bajra performance featuring a Barong from Ubud Palace and what they called “sacred rhythms.” Barong is a lion-like ceremonial representation of a supernatural protector in Balinese Hindu tradition, closely associated with Balinese religious and ritual life.

Cardinal Domenico Battaglia of Naples wrote the foreword to a new Catholic book on transgender people, writing that “no one is excluded from the heart of God.”

Cardinal Battaglia Wants to Accompany Transvestites
Cardinal Domenico Battaglia, 63, of Naples, Italy, wrote the foreword to the book 'Transgender People'. He believes that the Church is called to "renew its gaze upon humanity".
The book deals with “complex and sensitive issues,” he writes. His examples are “gender dysphoria, transgender identities, and life experiences that do not conform to traditional models.” This raises “profound questions - including for the Church.”
Cardinal Battaglia proposes “a path not of condemnation, but of accompaniment”: “No one is excluded from God’s heart.”
And: “No life is foreign to the mystery of salvation.”
“Every person, every story - even those that seem distant or difficult to understand - carries within it the possibility of a revelation.”
The book “reminds us that behind ideas there are people. People whom we must encounter, listen to, and accompany.”

Will Monsignor Gänswein be the new apostolic nuncio in France?

Leo XIV Receives Gänswein Amid Speculation Over Paris Nunciature
Today, Pope Leo XIV received Archbishop Georg Gänswein, 70, in an audience, amid renewed speculation that Benedict XVI’s longtime secretary could soon be appointed Apostolic Nuncio to France.
It was Gänswein’s third meeting with Leo XIV: the first came during the Pope’s gathering with apostolic nuncios in June 2025, followed by a private audience on December 12, 2025.
Monsignor Gänswein serves as Apostolic Nuncio to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Pope Francis appointed him to the diplomatic post in June 2024, ending roughly a year in Freiburg without an official assignment following the death of Benedict XVI.
In recent months, Vatican observers have speculated that Gänswein could be transferred to the Apostolic Nunciature in Paris. Asked about the possibility at a public appearance in Ravensburg in July, Gänswein declined to confirm the speculation.

That would constitute remarkably poor judgement from Rome even if Lizardo Estrada were simply another name passing across the Pope’s desk. But he isn’t — Robert Prevost knows Lizardo Estrada very well. This is not one of those tenuous Vatican connections in which two churchmen happened to occupy neighbouring seats at a conference twenty years ago. Estrada has described Prevost as his professor and his spiritual director. Vatican News itself describes Prevost as Estrada’s formator in the Order of Saint Augustine. Estrada studied under him at Trujillo, where Prevost taught Patristics and Canon Law and served in Augustinian formation.
The relationship therefore goes back to Estrada’s formative years as a young religious. Teacher and pupil. Formator and seminarian. Spiritual director and directee. Fellow Augustinians. Later, fellow bishops in Peru. And now Pope and archbishop-elect. Is there anything improper about a pope appointing somebody he knows?

At 94 years old, Cardinal Zen sees his conviction confirmed in Hong Kong amid Chinese repression - A historic figure in Hong Kong Catholicism and defender of freedoms, Cardinal Joseph Zen has lost his appeal in the case of the 2019 aid fund for protesters

Hong Kong Court Rejects Cardinal Zen’s Appeal
Hong Kong’s Court of Appeal has upheld the conviction of Cardinal Joseph Zen, 94, and four other former trustees of a humanitarian fund. Cardinal Zen attended court using a walking stick.
He was convicted in 2022 alongside barrister and former legislator Margaret Ng, former lawmaker Cyd Ho, singer Denise Ho and academic Hui Po-keung for failing to register the 612 Humanitarian Relief Fund under Hong Kong’s Societies Ordinance.
Each was fined HK$4,000 (about €440). The convictions were the first of their kind under the ordinance.
The fund was established in June 2019 to provide legal, medical and other financial assistance to people arrested or injured during the protests. It ceased operations in October 2021.
Today, three judges rejected the defendants’ argument that the fund was money administered through a trust and therefore did not constitute a “society.”
They found that those governing the fund had mutual rights and obligations and that …More

Pope Leo XIV’s prayer intention for the month of September is for the care of water. “Water is a symbol of your grace and love that renews us through Baptism. We beg forgiveness that it has been turned into a commodity, forgetting that it is a universal gift, a right without borders," the Holy Father expressed in his prayer released September 1 on the occasion of the Season of Creation. He added a plea to become “pilgrims of the essential, capable of living simply, denouncing waste and pollution, and defending the right of every person to drink without fear and without inequality.”

I think there is a trap when prayers have an audience are they for God or are they for the audience? The beauty of the Holy Rosary it has no audience appeal. Is this prayer for my ears or for God’s? Is this weaponised virtue signalling or a sincere prayer to God. Because if it is to God the prayer could be recited in Latin a language God knows well!
The Pope’s Prayer intention for the month of September is to pray for care of water: “Lord of Life, you have given us the gift of water, source of fruitfulness, freshness, and hope. It quenches thirst, nourishes the earth, and heals wounds. We thank you because it is also a symbol of your grace and love that renews us through baptism. Today, we ask you to teach us to safeguard it with gratitude, justice, and responsibility. Forgive us for turning it into a commodity, forgetting that it is a universal gift, a right without borders, meant for all your children. A ruling by the Superior Court of Quebec in Canada finds that Cardinal Marc Ouellet was “falsely accused” of sexual assault in connection with a class action against the Archdiocese of Quebec, and he will receive $100,000 in damages, which he will donate to organizations combating the sexual abuse of Indigenous peoples.

Cardinal Ouellet Wins Defamation Lawsuit
Former Curia Cardinal Marc Ouellet has won his defamation lawsuit against Paméla Groleau. She had accused him of sexual assault.
Quebec Superior Court Judge Martin Castonguay found her allegations unfounded and ordered her to pay Ouellet C$100,000 (€62,000) in damages.
Judge Rejects Accuser’s Account
Paméla Groleau, a former pastoral worker, accused the former archbishop of Quebec of inappropriate touching during several encounters between 2008 and 2010.
Her main allegation concerned a priestly ordination in 2010, where she claimed Ouellet ran a hand down her back and touched the upper part of her buttocks. Ouellet denied the allegation.
At trial, Groleau acknowledged that this was the only incident she considered sexual assault.
The judge found her account “neither credible nor reliable,” pointing to changes and inconsistencies in her testimony.
Castonguay also noted that Ouellet was holding his episcopal crozier when the alleged contact was said …More

IT is also part of the on-going war against the Church; when you think of a cleric from another religion, do you think of sexual abuse? Do you think that's because it doesn't happen, or because they own the media?

It is in vogue to accuse clerics of sexual sins. Some accusations are true, but then some are not. Lawyers are making lots of money.

Fsspx.at announced the decision on August 27, adding that a pilgrimage will take place with a modified program.
The FSSPX’s rosary prayer in Mariazell has existed for half a century. On September 8, 1975, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre led approximately 600 faithful to the Austrian shrine.

Claimed Eucharistic Miracle Under Investigation in Guatemala
Church authorities are examining a possible Eucharistic miracle after a Host placed in water reportedly failed to dissolve and subsequently developed reddish stains that “could be blood”, the Cathedral Parish of El Niño Dios in Cuilapa, Guatemala, has announced on August 22. The parish is the cathedral of the Diocese of Santa Rosa de Lima.
The incident began on July 30, during a Missionary Eucharistic Week. A priest was celebrating the Eucharist at a private school when he noticed that a teenage student, after receiving Holy Communion, was removing the Host from his mouth.
The priest intervened before the student could throw it to the ground.
Following the procedure used in such cases, the priest placed the Host in a glass of water in the chapel of the parish house so that it could dissolve.
When the chapel was cleaned the following Thursday, however, a parish worker found that the Host had not dissolved and noticed reddish …More
