In a stunning and breathtaking letter, the Most Rev. Michael Olson, the newly-ordained bishop of the Fort Worth Diocese and the second-youngest bishop in the United States, has fully and totally banned the offering of the Traditional Latin Mass in the chapel of Fisher More College, where it has been offered for the last three years on a daily basis by chaplains all approved by his predecessor bishop according to the college. This blow comes after the students of the college raised $300,000 in about a week to keep the school open for the spring semester (see here).
Rorate has exclusively obtained -- through a source who has requested anonymity -- a copy of the letter sent last week by the bishop after a personal meeting with the college's president, Michael King. Even more striking, the letter from Bishop Olson states that he's doing this "for your own soul," addressing Mr. King, apparently saying in some twisted way the offering of …More

🤨 This Bishop is abusing his power because Summorum Pontificum wherein it states with regard to the celebration of the ancient rite, "The priest has no need for permission from the Apostolic See or from his Ordinary." Cardinal Ratzinger once described as the "banal on the spot fabrication" the Novus Ordo. 🤦

Dear Gloria TV,
I was listening to the audio you just posted concerning Don Pelayo and the Battle of Covadonga and I recalled an article I read by Sarah Metts from CNA on this topic. Sarah wrote excellent articles on Catholic Spain for a recent period of time, but she has not posted anything since. I don't know what happened?

Around the year 722 A.D. a Visigothic nobleman named Don Pelayo, with a small band of poorly equipped Christian soldiers, defeated a much larger and highly skilled army of Moors in a battle that took place in Covadonga, located in the region of Asturias, in northern Spain. This victory began the Reconquista(Reconquest) of Spain from the Moors, which would last for 770 years.
One of the interesting things about this story is that many historians writing today about medieval Spain would not acknowledge that this battle, the Battle of Covadonga, had any historical significance. Most would deny that it began the Reconquista …More

No, the Pope's words on homosexuality do not change the doctrine of the Church, and in no way excuse what these 'lawmakers' have done. At the same time, this does not bode well for those who have argued that the Pope's strategy of putting the accent almost exclusively on inclusion and compassion will do little harm to the Church, while miraculously attracting large numbers back to the faith.
From the Christian Science Monitor article "As Illinois House approves gay marriage, speaker cites Pope Francis":
After months of false starts, the Illinois House of Representatives on Tuesday voted to legalize same-sex marriage, and Pope Francis's recent comments about homosexuality may have played a small but significant role, reports suggest.
At least one Catholic lawmaker cited the pope's statement as she explained her recent decision, and Speaker of the House Michael Madigan, also a Catholic, used the pope's words to articulate his own reasons for …

Former Colorado Senate President John Morse, who was recalled as a result of a Sept. 10 special election.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Viewed nationally as exclusively a blowback against anti-gun laws, this week’s recalls of Colorado Senate President John Morse, D-Colorado Springs, and state Sen. Angela Giron, D-Pueblo, played out locally as battles also involving abortion.
The Sept. 10 special elections replaced two pro-abortion-rights Democrats with self-professed pro-life Republicans, in dramatic defiance of Colorado’s decade-long political drift toward left-of-center social policies.
“I think it is very, very promising,” said Bishop Michael Sheridan of Colorado Springs, regarding the pro-life stands …More
