Contradictory reactions came indeed to light. And not without reason. Devout Catholics saw that many bishops were close to descent. I wouldn´t be so optimistic about the upcoming synod on the family: voices from the German Church, which want Communion for the divorced and remarried are still loud. Cardinal Kasper is still proclaming his liberal agenda. So we should not be to optimistic.
