Really Enjoying Good Health? “I can affirm that consecrated life is really enjoying good health at this moment”, Archbishop Jose Rodriguez Carballo told CNA on Jan. 31. Rodriguez is the Secretary of the Vatican Congregation for Consecrated Life. His affirmation comes as a surprise as almost all Catholic religious communities are in a profound crisis. An example: From 1965 to 2013 the number of religious sisters in the U.S. has dropped from 180,000 to 51,000. These numbers are expected to drop even further.
