It was very disappointing that Vladimir Putin had to continue his vaccation in August 2000, when one hundred and eighteen submariners were slowly dying in the Kursk, a wrecked nuclear submarine, on the Barents sea bed. Compounding matters was his failure to accept International assistance. Had he done so, then the men could have been saved. This is what happens when people worship the State in place of the one true and living God.

It was a grimace followed by Putin pulling back his right clenched fist as if he would (and he would if he could get away with it) punch the priest.

These photo ops are meaningless, a distraction that should not prevent us from losing sight of who Putin is and what he represents.
