The church must accept that it does not have the truth for itself – and become a "learning church", demands the Prague theologian Tomas Halik. The synodal process initiated by the Pope is the right step.
The Prague philosopher of religion Tomas Halik believes a radical change of mentality is necessary in the Catholic Church. He told the "Kleine Zeitung" newspaper in an interview that this is about shedding "the pride and arrogance of the owners of the whole truth". "We need to be a listening church; not just a teaching church, but above all a learning church," said Halik. The bureaucratic institution of the church must become "a house for all".
This requires a deepening of ecumenism, interreligious and intercultural dialogue. This also includes an awareness of ecological responsibility for "the environment, the planet as the common home of the entire human family".
According to the sociologist of religion, it is important to "find a way out of the structure of their denominationally …More

The celebration of the so-called homosexual "Pride Month" has been prohibited in all Catholic schools in the English diocese of Nottingham (United Kingdom) under new guidelines that also reject the promotion of gender ideology.
The diocese asks teachers not to celebrate homosexuality in June, the month in which the Church traditionally honors the Sacred Heart of Jesus, because "we cannot celebrate lifestyles that are incompatible with the teaching of the Church".
"In short, it is not appropriate for our schools to celebrate Pride because we cannot support the entire agenda," says a new 40-page document titled "Precious in My Sight . "
«Approving only part of it could be considered dishonest and could lead to confusion. We must, instead, seek to articulate those values and principles with which we can agree, and affirm Catholic teaching in a different, distinct and pastorally positive way.
The guidelines also prohibit children who want to change gender from insisting on using their …More

The Bishop of Passau, Stefan Oster SDB, has expressed concern about the lack of priests and has defended the need for a deeper commitment to the faith, opposing proposals to liberalize the German Synodal Path. Oster warns that adopting these reforms could accelerate the dissolution of the Church in secular society.
In view of the shortage of priests, the bishop of Passau, Stefan Oster SDB, has declared: "From a believing people comes the number of priests that are needed." The Passauer Neue Presse newspaper published the interview on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Oster's ordination over the weekend.
"However, if we look at our current structures, we have, of course, very few priests," Oster admitted. «We have this popular Church in decline, which still assumes that all the baptized receive an ecclesiastical burial and that every Catholic child receives Communion in third grade. That is, we still want and need to serve everyone in a generalized way, and to do so we need staff. …More

On the last day of Parish Priests for the Synod—an international meeting of parish priests at the Vatican—Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, SJ, encouraged participants “to become ambassadors of synodality, to be full participants in a synodal Church, to become with all the people of God, missionary disciples of Jesus.”
“Many times their training and their reality have been oriented towards a Tridentine model of the priesthood,” Cardinal Hollerich, the relator-general of the synod on synodality, said of parish priests, in an address to Pope Francis in the presence of participants. “And now they see that the identity they had for centuries is crumbling, and sometimes this identity is lost ... and there is the danger of wanting to build a new identity based on the experience of the past.”
“The identity of priests and parish priests (even bishops) is given to us by the Holy Spirit when we walk with the people,” he continued. “Then the sacraments are no longer the expression of a ritualism in …More

Nowym arcybiskupem krakowskim mógłby zostać postępowy i homoseksualny Ryś, arcybiskup łódzki, mianowany kardynałem rok wcześniej.

Several sources have confirmed to Polish media that Archbishop Marek Jedraszewski, current archbishop of Krakow in Poland and one of the most important sees in the country, and appointed in 2016, will retire in July of this year, THE MONTH IN WHICH HE WILL SUBMIT THE RESIGNATION BY AGE. The archbishop will become another victim of Francis by retiring without having any extension, and without having been created a cardinal. Gloria.tv readers should keep in mind that the good archbishop is known inside and outside Poland for defending Catholic doctrine, with his opposition to sodomy, or his defense of life and the fight against abortion in his country; as well as for denouncing the anti-Catholic drift of the German Church. The award? Not be a cardinal and retire without extension.
The new archbishop of Krakow could be the progressive and homosexual Rys, archbishop of Lodz and created cardinal the previous year.

He also smiles because in less than two years the situation has changed completely: thanks to pastoral efforts and prayers, last year 16 young people entered the seminary and this year the diocese - which also boasts an increase in the number of faithful - hopes at least a dozen more.

The first bishop of Magdeburg after the end of the GDR, Leo Nowak, declared: “We need reform and renewal.” Nowak is celebrating his 95th birthday on Sunday and made the comments in an interview on the website of his diocese, for which he who was responsible until 2004, was published.
“Regaining credibility is the order of the day,” emphasized the bishop. “This requires a great sensitivity to authenticity and trust. Some of the church’s behavior is simply no longer understandable to people today.”
“Religious language is often met with a lack of understanding,” he explained. “'Compulsory celibacy' or the ban on women being ordained as deacons and priests is met with incomprehension because equal rights for women play a major role in public society. This is also why the so-called 'synodal path' is a hopeful initiative. We need renewal!”
