His Holiness Pope Leo XIV Is Not a Politician
Everyone is already seeing the tension building between U.S. President Donald Trump and Pope Leo XIV, especially with everything going on right now involving the U.S. and Iran. After the Pope made public appeals for restraint, peace, and basically warning about the dangers of escalating violence, Trump came back pretty strongly, calling him “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy,” and basically saying the Pope doesn’t really understand how global security works.
Now I’ve said this before and I think it still applies here. The Pope is not a politician, and neither are bishops, priests, or any of the clergy. Their job is just different.
