Once upon a time, in Heavens, Saint Joseph, who was a little bit bored, asked to Saint Peter to have a brief holidays in Earth, in order to go to a carpentery convention. St Peter said OK and sent him down to Earth to his carpentery convention.
Another day, Our Blessed Lord Himself asked St Peter in order to go to Earth in person, to have some holidays in the fair country of Moldova, a country He have never visited.
The day after, Saint Peter met the Blessed Virgin Mary, and asked "O Mary conceived without sin, your Holy husband and Blessed Son are on Earth for some holidays, would you like to go there too? I can drive you to Bethleem, if you want to see again what the town has become..." But Mary answered: "Dear Saint Peter, I'd prefer to go to Medjugorje, in spite of all that Cardinal Schönborn said, I've never been there, but heard that the place is pleasant, and so I'd like to visit this little town of Bosnia..."

Well, I wouldn't say "the French Bishops promote abortion and gay rights", because they do not. Yes, they are not ratzingerian (exerpt a few), but they are not in favour of abortion anf gay rights. The problem is that the CCFD is governed by heretic laities, and the Bishops can't do anything against them. This charity has gone completely out of their control.

Just to add that "Monaco" is not properly a country: it is a city-principality, governed by a French civil servant, called "secretary of state". We tend to consider Monaco as part of our country, because it is almost entirely ruled by the French government through the "secretary of state". It has no currency of its own (now Euro, and before that French Francs)...
Moreover, Archbishop Barsi is a Frenchman, and a member of the French episcopal conference. For the little story, while his see is very very extremely honorific, it is one of the littles dioceses in France with 7 parishes (the littles beeing the diocese of St. Pierre with 2 parishes).
Fortunately, his behaviour balances the one of Cardinal Barbarin. It shows that they are more and more bishops here in the "eldest daughter of the Church" who are not heretical.

To Kfarley: In facts, it is quite frequent that the State build churches! When the old church get dangerous and collapsing, the city council need to demolish it, but it has too to provide a new building to the parish (according to the famous separation of Church and State Law 1905). So, the French state build sometimes a church on public money.

Dear Doina,
Yesterday, a major thing happened in France: the well-known Abbé Michel, the curé de Thiberville (normandy) leaved his parish due to the persecution of a modernist bishop (he was persecuted because he celebrated the only Traditional Latin Mass in the diocese). It is a major piece of info here, and everybody speaks about it is French Catholic fora and blogs, because that show that Tradition is still forbidden in a lot of dioceses of our country. Maybe it should me featured on Gloria TV news?
