“The protection of the right to life constitutes the indispensable foundation of every other human right,” wrote Pope Leo XIV in a message ahead of today's March for Life in Washington. Leo XIV warned that “a society is healthy and truly progresses only when it safeguards the sanctity of human life.” He praised marchers for advocating “courageously and peacefully” on behalf of unborn children. Pope Francis had also supported the March for Life. Actions speak louder than words However, Leo XIV is a proponent of the so-called “seamless garment” or consistent ethic of life approach. This idea trivialises abortion by equating it with other moral and social issues, such as illegal immigration. It was popularized in the United States by pro-homosexual Cardinals Joseph Bernardin and Blase Cupich. In a 2023 address at the 25th anniversary of the Universidad Católica Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo in Chiclayo, Peru, then-Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost explicitly appealed to this approach, saying …okunengi

Pope to US March for Life: Healthy societies … Extending a warm greeting to the thousands set to participate in the 2026 March for Life in Washington, D.C., in the United States, Pope Leo XIV assured them all of his spiritual closeness in a message. He added his heartfelt appreciation for this “eloquent public witness to affirm that ‘the protection of the right to life constitutes the indispensable foundation of every other human right’.” Referring to his address to members of the Diplomatic Corps Accredited to the Holy See early this month, the Pope outlined what a healthy and truly progressive society looks like—“it safeguards the sanctity of human life and works actively to promote it.”

Vatican employees are “demotivated, tired of their complicated relationship with curial leadership, and often even bullied”. This is the result of the first representative survey conducted among Vatican staff. The poll was carried out between 15 September and 7 January and drew responses from 250 employees, 80% of them members of the ADLV, an internal association similar to a union. Trade unions are not formally recognized in the Vatican. The Holy See employs about 4,200 people, most of whom are not members of the ADLV, reportedly for fear of internal repercussions. The survey paints a bleak picture of working conditions under Pope Francis, described as marked by “extremely high points of friction.” The arrival of Pope Leo XIV has raised cautious hopes, notably after he restored the conclave bonus that Francis had abolished. Key findings underline widespread discontent: - 75.9% say human resources are poorly placed, valued, and motivated. - 73.9% perceive a disconnect between workers …okunengi

Pope approves decrees for 2 new Blesseds and 4 Venerables Pope Leo XIV approves decrees for the causes of saints and recognizes the martyrdom of Guatemalan Fr. Augusto Rafael Ramírez Monasterio and Mother Maria Ignazia Isacchi, clearing the way for their beatification.
The decrees recognized the martyrdom of Fr. Augusto Rafael Ramírez Monasterio, a priest of the Order of Friars Minor, and a miracle attributed to the intercession of Sr. Maria Ignazia Isacchi, founder of the Congregation of the Ursulines of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Asola. Both will therefore be proclaimed Blessed. He also recognized the heroic virtues of Nerino Cobianchi, a layman, and Srs. Crocifissa Militerni, Maria Giselda Villela, and Maria Tecla Antonia Relucenti, who have been proclaimed Venerable. Guatemalan priest and martyr Augusto Rafael Ramírez Monasterio was born in Guatemala City on November 5, 1937, into a large and devout Catholic family. Having discerned a religious vocation, he began his Franciscan novitiate in Jumilla, Spain, where, after completing studies in philosophy and theology, he was ordained a priest on June 18, 1967. In 1978, he served as guardian and parish priest of San Francisco el Grande in Antigua, Guatemala, dedicating himself to the parish’s …okunengi

Leo XIV today appointed Monsignor Carlo Roberto Maria Redaelli, 69, until now Archbishop of Gorizia, Italy, as Secretary of the Dicastery for the Clergy. Carlo Roberto Maria Redaelli (born 1956 in Milan) is a canon lawyer who served for many years in the Archdiocese of Milan before becoming Archbishop of Gorizia in 2012. He holds a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University, where he specialized in the nature of Church law in the post–Vatican II period. Promoting Homosexuality In June 2017, in Staranzano, a small town in the Diocese of Gorizia, a leader of the Catholic Scout movement (AGESCI) entered into a homosexual civil union. The parish priest, Don Francesco Fragiacomo, stated that, as a consequence of this choice, he could no longer retain his role as a Catholic educator. Archbishop Redaelli intervened publicly and stabbed the priest in the back. The anti-Catholic slogans of Monsignor Redaelli were: One must seek the “grace present in every situation” and …okunengi
Mr. Trump, you recently said that if the Americans hadn’t helped during world war II, we would be speaking German in France now. Allow me, please, to respond in a few words. You Americans-without the French (Lafayette)-would still be all “fucking English” in the States. If Napoleon hadn’t lost to the Russian winter, they would all be speaking French in Europe now, Germany included-where you are from. And, by the way, if you hadn’t been elected, the Americans wouldn’t be as ridiculous as they are now… So shut your F…. mouth with your « if, if, if…). Sincerely yours, Jean-Pierre Aussant
It seems correct to say that. Consider the louisiana purchase for example. But the US is the Fourth Reich. I have posted on it. As one post shows it is the hunger games" in real life! Trump must be taken seriously but not for the obvious reasons!
Just as Netanyahu (genocide in Gaza) will have succeeded in erasing a large part of the capital of sympathy that the world—out of obvious compassion in the wake of the Shoah—had for Jews, Trump will also have succeeded in reducing to almost nothing a certain sympathy that Europeans could have had for the USA. The real slogans of Netanyahu and Trump are in fact, for the former: “make antisemitism great again,” and for the latter: “make America the most hated country in the world.”
At the 2026 March For Life in Washington D.C., VP JD Vance announces expansion of the Mexico city policy: “We're going to start blocking every international NGO that performs or promotes abortion abroad from receiving a dollar of US money. We're expanding this policy to protect life to combat, DEI and the radical gender ideologies that pray on our children. With these additions the rule will now cover every non-military foreign assistance that America sends. All in all we've expanded the Mexico city policy about three times as big as it was before and we're proud of it because we believe in fighting for life.”
A sign in the sky is coming. On March 3rd, the Total Lunar Eclipse will paint the moon red and bring a powerful moment of transformation. Prepare your heart and your eyes for what the universe will reveal. And before you think this is just mysticism: celestial phenomena have always impacted humanity in ways that science is only now beginning to prove. Lunar cycles affect tides, sleep, mood, even fertility. The moon governs cycles. And eclipses mark ENDINGS and NEW BEGINNINGS. But do you know what fascinates me the most? How we've unlearned how to look at the sky. How we've lost our connection to natural cycles. How we live at an artificial speed that ignores the rhythms of nature and our own bodies. Your ancestors lived in sync with the moon. They planted, harvested, rested, and celebrated following the celestial cycles. And they had a wisdom that we call "primitive" but which was, in fact, profoundly connected. Eclipses have always marked moments of turning points. Of revelation …okunengi
At an altitude of 2,580 metres (8,500 feet) and located inside a towering sandstone spire the Abuna Yemata Guh church has to be the hardest and most dangerous church to reach. The church is in the Gheralta Mountains of Tigray in northern Ethiopia. A huge vertical sandstone structure shoots straight up 2,580 metres and like a miracle inside that rock one finds a Christian church. No doubt the hardest to access on the planet. The church takes its name from one of the nine saints who came to Ethiopia from Rome, Constantinople and Syria during the 5th and 6th centuries. The saints came to the region as missionaries to bring Christianity. They were also responsible for building monasteries and translated the Bible into Ge'ez, the old language of Ethiopia. Abuna Yemata Guh is one of the oldest churches in Ethiopia, and its founder worked to help carve the church into what is the highest sandstone spire in the area. The Church has beautiful mural paintings on its walls, domes and columns that …
The share of adults identifying as Catholic has declined sharply across much of Latin America over the past decade. The number of people with no religious affiliation has risen, according to a January 21 Pew Research Center report. This marks a shift in a region where more than 90% of people were Catholic around 1900. The report, Catholicism Has Declined in Latin America Over the Past Decade is based on surveys of more than 6,200 adults in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru conducted in spring 2024. Comparing the results with a similar 2013–14 survey, Pew found that the Catholic share fell by at least 9 percentage points in all six countries. Today, Catholics make up 46% of adults in Brazil and Chile, 58% in Argentina, 60% in Colombia, and 67% in both Mexico and Peru. A decade ago, all six countries had Catholic majorities of roughly six-in-ten or more adults.
