Munich Archdiocese: Can there be a more protestant cereony than this catholic event with bread and whine led by women?
Mark Lambert: Priest mocked the Tridentine Mass, bishop applauded. In this clip, Professor William A Thomas tells us about the time when he attended a presentation during discussions surrounding synodality in which the Traditional Latin Mass was criticised as "theatrical" and its faithful described as mere "spectators."
In a statement published on July 16, the Society of Saint Pius X asserted that “Pope Francis’s grants of confessional faculties and for the ability of the SSPX priests to obtain marriage delegation remain in force”—two weeks after the Vatican stated they were no longer in force.
SSPX asks: "Could we suggest requiring contributors to L'Osservatore Romano and professors at pontifical universities to sign the profession of faith and the declaration of adherence to the Magisterium required for full communion?"
Talking to Diane Montagna on July 16, Cardinal Robert Sarah argues that Leo XIV wants to allow the Roman rite, but fails because of the bishops and that the pope will be “very prudent” about the dissemination of the pro-homosexual final text of the synod's Study Group Number 9. On Leo XIV's letter to the French bishops "It seems to me that the Holy Father did well to write to the French Bishops, encouraging them to be more open to the traditional Mass, because it is a Mass we have celebrated for centuries." Follow what Leo XIV says "I think that what was written to the French Bishops must apply to all bishops: be more open, so as not to create division for no reason." "We must follow what Pope Leo says - that is, not be so averse toward something holy, something beautiful, something conducive to recollection." Traditionis Custodes should be abrogated "Yes, let's hope so. This depends on the Holy Father's decision, but perhaps the Holy Father could be helped. If, for example, in a Consistory …More

Actually, this is a dry run. Tucho has proposed to change the designation of the period between Advent and Lent from "Ordinary Time" to "Fabulous Time" with rainbow rather than green chasable.
TC was "issued on a Marian feast – that of Our Lady of Mount Carmel." Many controversial Francis documents were indeed released on Marian feast days, something both supporters and critics have remarked upon.
Nearly 500 years after the Protestant Reformation, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass returned to Bayham Old Abbey in Kent "We give thanks for our faith, the faith of our fathers, and we give thanks because from the ruins of worldly crises, God continues to plant the seeds of new growth" - Fr Stephen Morrison Source: Archdiocese of Southwark
Although the SSPX does not possess ordinary territorial jurisdiction recognized by the Holy See, its bishops typically carry the crosier with the crook facing forward, a posture historically linked to jurisdictional authority. According to the traditional ceremonial, bishops lacking ordinary jurisdiction in the place where they officiate should carry the crosier with the crook turned toward themselves, not facing forward.

In France, three dioceses have seen only a single priestly ordination in 16 years: • Rodez • Pamiers • Carcassonne. Three others have recorded no ordinations for 12 to 14 years: • Aire-et-Dax • Le Puy-en-Velay • Le Havre. Between 2023 and 2025, 56 priests have left the priesthood, while 105 diocesan priests have been ordained.
French dioceses face a worsening vocation crisis, despite claims of improvement in seminary recruitment, Laurent Dastros writes on July 9 on Substack.com. Dastros notes that, as of 2026, three French dioceses - Aire-et-Dax, Le Puy-en-Velay, and Le Havre - have gone between 12 and 14 years without a diocesan priestly ordination. Carcassonne et Narbonne ended a 19-year gap in 2025 with the ordination of a 51-year-old candidate. Annecy and Rodez could join this list next year if they continue without new ordinations. Longer-Term Picture Dastros calculates that between 2011 and 2026, only three dioceses recorded a single diocesan priestly ordination: Carcassonne et Narbonne, Rodez et Vabres, and Pamiers, Couserans et Mirepoix. Based on the assumption that priests remain in active ministry for approximately 50 years, he estimates that, if current trends continue, each of these dioceses could eventually have only about three native diocesan priests. He further identifies seven dioceses that …More
The Vatican tried to excommunicate 700. It failed to follow Canon law. In addition, the SSPX has challenged the excommunication of six bishops. That puts the excommunication on hold while it is sorted out. The ball is back in the Modernists' court. The Modernists have not yet succeeded in their schism. Meanwhile, Catholics still practice the faith.
