Msgr. Roger Landry, 55, a prominent conservative U.S. priest, has been restricted from public ministry following non-sexual misconduct allegations by “multiple individuals.” The Diocese of Fall River said on September 11 that the allegations involve adults and possible violations of priestly codes of conduct in both Fall River and the Archdiocese of New York. After an initial investigation in New York, the diocese said there was “sufficient evidence” to impose restrictions while the case continues. Landry, who has also celebrated the traditional Roman Rite, denies wrongdoing. He says the accusations essentially concern alleged boundary violations between spiritual direction and friendship.

Ever since a couple of Russian Orthodox clerics were told not to covert to the Catholic Church, things have gone downhill. Missionaries have ceased preaching the Gospel and Catholic baptisms have dwindled. Basically, there is no more Catholic evangelization.

After Communion and before the final blessing, two young men recited the “Creed of the Youth of the Ecclesial Base Communities.” Developed in 2016, the text speaks of a “God/Goddess,” described as “liberating and revolutionary.” This creed explicitly rejects belief in a “hierarchical Church” while “embracing all sexual diversity.” Before the recitation, Bishop Mendes introduced the creed as a “supplication from the youth of Latin America, who stand before God asking him to come to meet us.”
A heterodox creed invoking a “God/Goddess” and featuring left-wing political language was recited at the annual “Cry of the Excluded” Mass celebrated by Bishop José Valdeci Santos Mendes of Brejo, Brazil.

Emma Bonino has died aged 78. May God have mercy on her soul. She was one of the most consequential figures in modern Italian politics, and Catholics should be honest about what that legacy means. She devoted much of her public life to causes fundamentally opposed to Catholic moral teaching, most notably the legalisation and promotion of abortion. She became a principal architect of Italy’s transformation from an overwhelmingly Catholic culture into a far more secular one. That makes Pope Francis’s repeated warmth towards her, including his extraordinary description of Bonino as one of Italy’s “forgotten greats”, all the more difficult to understand.

Das wurde schon ziemlich am Anfang aufgedeckt. Ich war zufällig diese Nacht munter und hab ferngesehen, weil ich nicht schlafen konnte, als diese Berichte plötzlich kamen. Ich habe die Szene, die hier gezeigt wird, als ein Flugzeug in hohem Bogen in das WTC II flog, im Fernsehen in Nahaufnahme und gestochen scharf gesehen und war sofort misstrauisch. Erster verdächtiger Punkt: Warum war die Kamera die ganze Zeit im perfekten Winkel auf das WTC II gerichtet, als plötzlich von links oben das Flugzeug herein kam und durch die Kurve rechts unten einschlug? The Euthanasia Bill in Britain is defeated, for now. The House of Commons has rejected the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, defeating the latest attempt to legalize assisted suicide in England and Wales. MPs voted 286 to 270 against the legislation at its second reading. This is a decisive reversal that ends the bill’s progress through Parliament. Had it passed, the law would have allowed terminally ill adults with a life expectancy of less than six months to receive “assistance” in ending their lives under “specified conditions.” Opposition came from far beyond religious and pro-life circles.
