At today’s General Audience, Leo XIV praised the failed liturgical reform after Vatican II. He quoted extensively from a letter by the future Paul VI, Cardinal Montini, dated October 1962. Vatican Council II says outside the Catholic Church there is no salvation (AG 7/ CCC 846). Since LG 8, 14, 16 are hypothetical and invisible cases only, they are not practical exceptions for Ad Gentes 7 which says all need faith and baptism for salvation. Preliminary Recourse of FSSPX Rejected: The Vatican’s deadline to respond to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X (FSSPX) regarding its preliminary recourse against the July 2 decree declaring six bishops automatically excommunicated has now passed, notes @Michael Haynes The FSSPX submitted its recourse to the Holy See on July 11. Under canon law, the competent authority had 30 days to respond. With that period now expired without a decision, the FSSPX can proceed to the next stage of its canonical challenge. Canon 1735 provides that when no decision is issued within the prescribed 30 days, the time limit for presenting hierarchical recourse begins to run from the 30th day.
