Pope Leo XIV talked on July 29 with Tom Llamas (NBC) about his heritage and what it means to be the first pope from the US. “First of all, just to clarify, I think of myself more as the pope who happens to be American, not to belittle what it means to be American”, Leo XIV said. Leo XIV loves about America “the sense of freedom, the sense of opportunity, the sense of having invited for generations people from around the world to be part of America.” Discussing his family's heritage, he said, “I come from a family where my grandparents were immigrants. On my mother’s side, we have people who were both slaves and slave owners.” Llamas also asked when the pope will visit the United States. “In the next couple of years,” Leo answered. The interview was Leo XIV's first interview with a US television journalist, and it aired alongside the Concert for Peace, marking the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi's death, featuring Andrea Bocelli and a 200-child interfaith choir from conflict-…More
Leo XIV: “I think of myself more as the pope, who happens to be American.”
NBS: “I’m curious, how important is being American to you? What do you love about America?” Pope Leo XIV: “First of all, just to clarify, I think of myself more as the pope, who happens to be American. Not to belittle what it means to be American. I was born in the United States, my family is still in the United States. I have great love for America. But I understand my mission, having a very important mission, being pastor of a global church and having a voice and opportunity to speak to people throughout the world. So, I will put things in that order. At the same time I will acknowledge for myself as well as the people of the United States, judging by the response we’ve seen since May 8 of last year, that there is great significance in being the first American pope.”
There is an old parable that says: “Never keep telling yourself that your life is terrible.” God may hear those words and reply, “You do not yet understand what a truly difficult life is,” and allow you to face challenges far greater than the ones you are complaining about now. No matter what happens, try instead to say, “There is still good in my life.” Then God may answer, “You have not yet seen how beautiful life can become,” and open doors to blessings you never imagined. The meaning of this parable is not that we should deny pain, pretend that everything is fine, or feel guilty for struggling. There are seasons when life genuinely hurts, and it is important to acknowledge those feelings honestly. Its deeper lesson is about the direction of our attention. When we focus only on what is missing, what went wrong, and what others have that we do not, dissatisfaction gradually becomes the way we see the entire world. But when we practice gratitude—even during imperfect circumstances—we …More

Old Jack owned a breeding bull that was the envy of every rancher in the county. This was no ordinary animal. He was an absolute workhorse—or rather, a work bull. The bull was so famous for his energy, strength, and remarkable success that people joked he could get even the flies pregnant if they flew too close. He was Jack’s pride and joy, as well as his main source of income. Ranchers from all over the area paid to breed their cows with him because everyone had seen the results: his calves were consistently the biggest and healthiest around. Before long, the bull became Jack’s personal gold mine. He was quick, dependable, and never seemed to miss an opportunity. If a cow came anywhere near him, he was ready to get to work—and apparently never got tired. But as often happens when someone has a business that is doing a little too well, jealousy soon appeared. One day, the local ranchers gathered for a meeting. “We should buy that bull,” one of them suggested. “Then we won’t have to keep …More
Pro-homosexual Archbishop John C. Wester of Santa Fe, New Mexico, defended "our Muslim neighbors' right to worship" in a July 27 statement. He had heard in recent weeks concerns from some residents regarding the proposal to build a mosque and community center in Albuquerque's North Valley. "Our Muslim neighbors have the same God-given and constitutionally protected right to worship freely as every other faith community, including our own. Defending that right is not only a civic duty but a core element of Catholic teaching", the Archbishop wrote. According to Monsignor Wester, supporting the construction of a mosque is entirely consistent with Catholic tradition and moral commitments. He urged Catholics to "choose respect, dialogue, and peaceful coexistence." In 2025, it emerged that, Archbishop Wester promoted and lived with a priest who had spent ten years in a registered homosexual relationship. Picture: AI, #newsXofkbkkgnx
Conservative Archbishop Alexander K. Sample of Portland, Oregon attacked in an in-house interview on Youtube.com on July 28 the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX). Main quotes. • "The FSSPX's recent consecration of bishops without a papal mandate takes the situation to a whole new level. They are now the second time bishops have been consecrated." • "They see themselves as the faithful remnant, as though the rest of the Church is wrong and they alone are right. Folks, please don't be in that position." • "I don't attribute any ill will to these folks. They're sincere in wanting to preserve tradition and be faithful Catholics. But they have in fact become something else now, especially in light of these recent consecrations." • "They still mention the Pope in the Eucharistic Prayer, but it's just words. It's not a real communion. They give lip service." Summorum Pontificum Not About FSSPX • "Everybody thinks that Pope Benedict issued Summorum Pontificum... to bring them back …More
"The FSSPX's recent consecration of bishops without a papal mandate takes the situation to a whole new level." Really? That's what you call a "whole new level". What level then are a hundreds and more real heresies spoken and written by Bergoglio and Prevost, among others? If I may ask a good bishop of Portland.
Vote on Blanche Is Delayed After Senators Express Skepticism Over I.R.S. Provision John Cornyn and Thom Tillis accused the nominee for attorney general of refusing to put on paper his promise to kill aspects of the deal he cut to settle President Trump’s suit against the agency. nytimes.com/…7/29/us/politics/todd-blanche-senate… By Glenn Thrush and Michael Gold Reporting from Capitol Hill July 29, 2026Updated 9:37 p.m. ET Republicans on Wednesday night postponed a critical vote on Todd Blanche’s nomination as attorney general after two key G.O.P. senators threatened to derail it over a deal he cut to settle President Trump’s lawsuit against the I.R.S. The senators, John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina, who are not returning to Congress next year, accused Mr. Blanche of refusing to put on paper his promise to kill aspects of the deal. In June, Mr. Blanche said he would drop a proposed $1.8 billion fund to compensate purported victims of Biden-era actions by the Justice …More
Our Anglican "brethren" at Wells Cathedral (which was Catholic until the time of Henry VIII) have decided to stage an exhibition of "Mythical Creatures," based on a 17th-century book held in their library. Particularly striking is a fifteen-meter-long dragon—sporting rainbow colors—that soars above the few elderly congregants, baring its menacing claws at them. It serves as a true parable of what awaits us Catholics if we remain passive in the face of the brazen advance of the hierarchical "Pink Lobby." (It is astonishing to see the degree of confusion among some of the faithful—such as the person who wrote on a tag: "Dear dragon: always be kind and generous to entire human kind." As if we didn't know what the dragon symbolizes!) Visit our Blog: pagina-catolica.blogspot.com
At 60, Life Begins to Speak More Clearly By the time you reach sixty, life has a way of telling you the truth. Those who refuse to listen may eventually pay a high price in their later years. Turning sixty does not mean your life is over. It means there is no longer time to move through life half-awake, repeat the same mistakes, live for everyone else’s approval, or neglect yourself as though your health, peace of mind, and dignity will last forever without care. By this stage of life, there are certain truths worth understanding. 1. Take care of your body. Every day spent sitting without movement, every unhealthy habit, and every promise to “start tomorrow” eventually catches up with you. Walk, stay active, eat nourishing food, get enough sleep, and keep up with medical appointments. Without health, it becomes much harder to enjoy your savings, your home, your accomplishments, or the people you love. 2. Learn how to enjoy your own company. When you do not know how to be alone, you may …More

Book of Jeremiah 18,1-6. This word came to Jeremiah from the LORD: Rise up, be off to the potter's house; there I will give you my message. I went down to the potter's house and there he was, working at the wheel. Whenever the object of clay which he was making turned out badly in his hand, he tried again, making of the clay another object of whatever sort he pleased. Then the word of the Lord came to me: Can I not do to you, house of Israel, as this potter has done? says the LORD. Indeed, like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, house of Israel. FaithFuel
Buch Jeremia 18,1-6. Das Wort, das vom HERRN an Jeremia erging: Mach dich auf und geh zum Haus des Töpfers hinab! Dort will ich dir meine Worte mitteilen.
Pavel had lied and said, Russia wanted to suppress and control him. I thought that was pretty underhanded of him to lie like that and try to make out as if Russia was trying to control him. They were trying to get him to block terrorists. But he kept refusing. There are also scams from Ukraine wiping out bank accounts on the elderly and young women. Just like they do everywhere else. Including America! I was not happy with his lying about Russia. And I don't trust him. He refused to block anyone who was dangerous. Then what's there to trust?
